any suggestion for my chatroom problem?
The text is just too small and faint for me, gives me a headache! I've tried the magnifyer on xp and it only covers part of the page, stil a headache, none of the usual page settings work once I go into chat

Cutting your resolution in half will make everything look 4 times as big (2W x 2H)

Re: any suggestion for my chatroom problem?
Chazzy... A few other things to try:
Make sure your flash player is up to date. It should 7,0,19,0 (right click on user window in chat) and select 'about macromedia flash...'
Also, if your monitor and video card refresh rate settings are not optimal you may get blurry text or eye strain.
Another cause of eye strain with small type for some people is the use of florescent lights. If you are using them, shut them off and use incandescent if needed.
What is you screen size (17"?) and what resolution are you using? How many color bits as well? 8,16,24,32?

To change your screen resolution and/or font size using Windows 98/98SE/NT, or ME, perform the following steps:
1) Right-click on the desktop; then right-click Properties.
2) From the Display Properties dialog box, click Settings.
3) Under the Screen area, slide to select 800 by 600 pixels or 640 by 480 pixels.
4) From the Colors drop-down menu, click to select High Color (16 bit).
5) Click Apply.
6) Click Advanced.
7) From the Font Size drop-down menu, click to select Large Fonts
8) Click Apply.
9) From the General tab, click OK to return to the Display Properties dialog box.
10) To close the Display Properties dialog box, click OK
11) From the System Settings Change dialog box, click Yes to restart your computer
I hope that will do it for you, Chazz. Would like to see you in chat.

Re: any suggestion for my chatroom problem?
I would have recommended a trip to the optometrist for some reading glasses..... but that would have started trouble and I never start trouble.

my uncorrected vision leaves me legally blind, if there is anything an optometrist can do, it's been tried. My vision is corrected as well as it can be for far sight and near sight.(I can drive safely, although I know my limitations, no city driving, depth perception is not always the best.)The screen resolution should help, that's something I was totally overlooking! Thank you everyone for the suggestions and help and thanks tease, for the question in the support forum!!
