I love my warm fuzzy flannel pj pants that really need to be replaced but I've pulled them out of "storage" every year for as long as I can remember. I love to make chili or stew and drink hot chocolate while snuggled up on the couch in them

The other day I stopped to put gas in my car and was wearing a short skirt and a new pair of boots, I had a man offer to put gas in my car for me because it was cold...he was in big flannel shirt...ya think he liked my long black boots Chazzy?

I was just thinking about that Chazzy - Snowmen, and Flannel Sheets.
Remembering the frost I used to scrape off the INSIDE of my bedroom to watch for the bus - makes me appreciate what I have now.

I remember when I was 16 and my dad had let me borrow the "Big Bad Black Buick" Electra for a date on a very cold, wintry, Saturday night and the following morning (Sunday) we all piled in the car to go to church (dad, mom, and my 2 younger sisters and brother) and when my dad turned on the heater/defrosters there on the inside of the windshield on the passenger side directly in from of my very prim, proper Catholic mother appeared two, full, perfect barefoot prints left by the young lady I was  -ing the night before. Damn I paid hell for that! So just so I'm not too far off topic here, that's a thing I like about winter too as when the windows frost on the inside of my car, I frequently to this day think of Jenny, my first love.

Thank goodness I had my own car...I remember going parking when it was really cold outside and trying to make certain your butt didn't hit a new part of the vinyl seats in my mustang (remember vinyl? before cloth and leather was too expensive?). What I love about winter...seat warmers in my car under my leather seats!!!

Good story Tung! I really loved it!
I love seeing and trying to identify alll the animal tracks left in the snow...yesterday I had to carry a big bucket of ashes from the woodstove down to the creek and dump it...there I saw bunny tracks, going all over the place every which way, then I saw the clear tail feather and talon marks of a hawk in the snow too, explains why that bunny was hopping all over....happy ending, from the tracks, I'm pretty sure the bunny did manage a safe get-away!

I may have to revise my earlier post. Since Chazzy is gonna stuck with me for a week, (he he he) sorry, I'm having some very entertaining visions of that right now, I have just come up with a reason to like winter. On a different note Chazzy, I took my dad deer hunting, he shot one in the shoulder, (he's 81 years old for tits sake, give him a break) so I started to track it, just to make sure he didn't have to suffer for days before he died. I didn't mind, it's kinda fun to track. Out of the hundreds of deer tracks, I could clearly see one that was dragging a leg, 4 miles later I found him & ended his pain. Wish I had found him at the top of the hill instead of the bottom.

Squirrels make the cutest little snow tracks with their cute little front feet!
...and that brings me to another thing I love about winter, seeing how industrious squirrels can be, how creative, how much thought and effort, how relentless they are when it comes to a freshly filled bird feeder!
Great to watch them work!

taking walks when the first snow falls, the slow falling big flakes. been doing this since I was a kid. being in a woods hunting after a fresh snow fall, nothing looks more beautiful. many times have just found a place to sit, leaned the shotgun against a tree and just sat there and enjoyed Gods beauty in the landscape-can be a great escape when life is getting you down. I don't like the cold but you take the bad with the good. and yes, I like the fact that the woman I love..wants to cuddle up with me more to get warm...ahhh

I love a hike in the woods in the winter, all the garland and blinky little lights in the world just can't compare to a fresh white sparkling coat of snow on the evergreens.
I also love just taking my big old dog for a walk at night when it's snowing, he's part Akita, and true to the nature of that breed, he's turns into a little puppy again when he steps out and sinks in drifting snow, I'll walk him all around the neighborhood, giant snowflakes filtering through the street lights, wispy smoke from the chimneys, and that soft warm light glowing from all the windows, it's like stepping into a Thomas Kincaid painting.

That's what I like about you HH, always a positive thinker! And even in the winter in this region one can have a good time by finding a lady to help him build a fire and then let her roast his weenie and warm his buns! We should enjoy the 4 seasons here in the midwest to the fullest!

I like that lots of states are switching to sand instead of salt on the hghways and streets, the salt is actually potasium chloride, which is a toxic corrosive that contaminates as well as kills everything it touches as well as eats up the body of your car, I see home depot is now packaging it for water softeners in white bags instead of the usual sodium chloride in the yellow bags.
