Global Warming
If this is truely happening, then why does it get cold?
If this is happening then why is it Antarcticas ice isn't melting?
If this is happening then why does the "hole in the ozone" not cause everything under it to become instantly fried?
Just a few thought this morning. :D

Re: Global Warming
a. It isn't happenning over-nite. It takes decades. In the last fifty years the temperature has been rising an avaerage of 1/16 of a degree per year. That means that, it's a creeping problem. None will see it to be a problem until it's too late...
b. Although the poles receive light from the sun, direct rays are needed for the melting process. If global warming occurs and the temperature rises, you won't need direct rays to melt the poles...
c. Best way to discribe it, would be, ants under a magnifier. The hole is not complete and there is still some ozone in that hole. The problem is, it's so thin that it's letting in more of the suns rays than it should. So, no matter how tight you hold that magnifier over an ant hill, you can't get the beam focused enough to fry them instantly...

Re: Global Warming
Yes, it is very gradual, and also cyclical. However, when it is said the polar ice caps are melting, the ARctic is always pointed to. Never Antarctica. If there is global warming, then shouldn't the ice be melting on both poles??

Re: Global Warming
"warming" isnt like turning your home furnace on... a matter of raising the average earth temp just a few degrees can cause things as serious as plant/animal extinctions.

Re: Global Warming
A little off topic I know but, did you know a elephant farts out enough methane every day to power 3 cars for a full day of driving. Just thought you would sleep better knowing that.

Can you imagine the smell?? should help cut down on the tailgating too. Yes, there has been the technology for many years to harness the methane from poop.

Re: Global Warming
Has anyone heard about the car that runs on Dunkin' Donuts cooking oil. Yes, the emissions smell like donuts. I think I'm going to ask Santa for a franchise this Christmas... preferably one in walking distance to town...I got a hunch, people will soon be busting down the doors and buying donuts, not knowing why...

Re: Global Warming
I heard on the radio the other day that now the environmentalists are complaining even about people farts. Mainly about farts from cows though.
I wonder how they are going to legislate that one in CA.
