How can we get over an Ex?
Do any of you still think ,,( or dream.  ) about a very close Ex?
Wish i didnt,,,,,but seems i cant help it....WHY?

That person was a very big and important part of your life and it doesn't matter who or how you moved on. Some things will always remind you of that person. Been seperated and divorced almost ten yrs. Still think about the ex (some good thoughts and some not so good-LOL) Do you ever get over the ex??? I don't believe so...you just learn to cope.

When there is alot of time invested in someone there is always alot of memories good and bad when you separate, alot of us here know what you may be going through, because alot of us have gone through it our selves at one time or other,,finding a new partner is hard to do when all you think about is the one you broke up with. I personaly think the sooner you find a new friend or lover the sooner the healing will begin. Good luck to you, I hope you find someone here, there are lots of nice people here.

I've been through it, & I suspect 75% of us here have been too. They were your mate, lover, confidant, partner. You spent a lot of time with them. For me my ex left under the worst circumstances, when I was at my lowest point in my life, while I was laying in bed in a Burn Center. So I have to admit to being bitter for a while. But to get over it, you just have to think of them as dead, they aren't around anymore. There is nothing behind you that you can fix, or return to. That's how I had to look at it. Once she found out that I was going to survive & I was not going to be scarred or disfigured she tried to come back. But I never returned her calls, nor allowed her back into the house. All the feeling was dead, there was nothing left. So to me she just didn't exsist anymore. I got through it & lived, just as others have, & you can too. You just have to get your mind set right. They are Dead, they don't exsist. Unless the two of you are trying to work it out. But if you are finished, & want him out of your mind, ya gotta think of him as dead.

Disassociation has worked for me as well. My last divorce was in 1987 and yes, I do still think of all three of my ex's at times. There is always the "what could have been" i know that both they and I are much better off not being together. I even hope they have gone on to much better lives.

The only time I think of him is when he calls to harrass me or when I'm watching CSI and they are trying to figure out how some dumb bugger died - I keep waiting for the one where they can't figure out how lol - then I'll lay my trap - Just KIDDING. He'll kill himself soon enough with his drinking, smoking and wild women . Or as soon as I find the wild woman to screw him to death!!!!!!

If you watch the TV show, "Cops" wearing a colored shirt will actually increase your chances of getting away with it...

Years ago when a friend was getting divorced we all went to dinner to console/celebrate. One of the women...a bit of a phyco babbler said, "I believe that till death do you part really means the death of the marriage." I said, "Well, if they didn't get divorced it was going to be a race to the graveyard so its best that the marriage got the bullet and not one of them."

OMG GG! I totally forgot about that - now where did I put those car keys to I can jet over to Target and pick up that cute red top I saw????????
