20/20
Are you a fortunate one with good, excellent or perfect vision?
Or are you like me, visually impaired and need to use all kinds of tools and options to make internet and computer use comfortable? I have to set my screen contrast custom, and select "large text" and when I'm emailing and such, I have to use large font, bold type!
Or have you made small adaptions..like reading glasses?

Re: 20/20
My uncorrected vision leaves me legally blind and corrected vision only takes me so far. I can function quite well with corrected vision, but when it comes to driving, I know my own limitations and comfort level.
I Went through grade school with headaches and bifocals...that wasn't pleasant.
I really dislike having to repeatedly tell someone "no" when they keep asking me "You see that over there?
Right there!! You don't see that???"

Re: 20/20
I have to wear glasses/contacts mainly for reading but it has gotten to the point to where if I don't wear either, I can get a headache later on the day with the squinting that goes on while trying 'not' to read on a good day.
Speaking of fonts... someone came by the other day.. and changed my font sizes on the computer... and its irritating. He's probably having a good laugh right now.

Oh I don't like it at all when someone does that to me!
I compare it to going into someone else's house and rearranging their furniture!!

Well I shouldn't say its irritating because I think its cute that he tries to annoy me. Just now gonna be glued to the screen when trying to read.

"Blessed" is the right word! I've been visually impaired since I was a tiny little thing, I remember when I started losing my sight, I knew something was wrong, but I was too young to have the vocabulary to tell anyone.

I wear contac lenses...switched to them decades ago, the eye doc said it would help control the overall degeneration of my sight and it sure seems to have done that!

Re: 20/20
I believe that there's a conspiracy between the publishers of all printed materials and the people who make reading glasses - they're all in cahoots, I know this because in the past couple years I've had to go to Walgreens 3 times to "up" the magnification in my reading glasses.

I cringe at that thought and why when the day comes that I need more than reading glasses will never use contacts --couldn't stand messing with & touching my eyeballs like that. You got more guts than I do Chazzy.

I'm with you...a fleck of dust gets in my eye and darn near cripples me, I freak out. An eye doctor told me once that being fair haired with blue eyes I likely have extremely sensitive eyes...I'd never heard that before but it explained my oversensitive peepers.

Re: 20/20
Heard similar from my optimologist here re: blue eyes. Also told me to wear sunglasses even on overcast days or I was a good candidate for cataracts before I hit 60. Sunglare off shiny objects, snow, blinds me and is actually painful and I can't stand sun on a dirty windshield, etc. He said all that was the blue-eye sensitivity - lets too much light in- (similar for hazel & green-eyed people but not as severe). the curse of the blue-eyed peoples

Re: 20/20
I've been wearing them since before high school, I was thrilled to pieces to go from daily wear to extended wear.
yep, I believe you when you say blue eyes are more sensitive. I've also seen study and research results that say the red heads are more likely to suffer more pain in discomfort in the same conditions as others, and they need more pain killers. They even say that red heads need more Novocaine while having dental work done.

Chazzy, after my littlest one was born I was having major complications and began to hemorrhage, the doctor said, "I guess what they say about red heads is true, "they are bleeders..." I said, "Well, I should definately try a different color, #57...Loreal...is causing me way too many problems right now."

Re: 20/20
My husband is a pale red head Brit....and I soooo dread him having any dental work done, that I often will have the fleeting thought of just packing up and taking off if he mentions he's getting a toothache cuz I know it's gonna be long weeks of hell for me and him!
He's got perfect vision, but he can't stand to drive without sunglasses.

Re: 20/20
I also have to wear those eye correcting things, glasses. Only had since age 30, but then whe I hit 40, Bi focals. But now I'm problems again, can't see shit close up, so I'm hoping it's not going to be tri focals, but stronger perscription. I've alway had to wear sun glasses, blue eyes, otherwise I would get those nasty headaches. I really loved my mirrored ones, none of the ladies ever knew that I was staring at their, boobs, ass etc...

Well, got the left one cleaned up and back in, and then noticed I was still kinda seeing things "one eyed" so I took out the right lens, cleaned it up, popped it back in, blinked a few times to adjust them, opened my eyes and noticed....
OMG!!! I'm living in a freakin' pig's sty!!
I clean, dust, vacuum everyday, but with my dirty lenses....I sure was doing a crap job of it!
