A few forum posting tips.....READ ME!
New topics- There's over 80 pages in General Discussions alone, so new topics can be hard to come by...don't worry about that! Some of the old topics died a horrible hijacking death, and re-doing a topic that has already been done, gives newer members a chance to reply. It would be considered a polite thing to do to search to see if a topic has been done already recently. There's a "search forums" feature for this, but don't get all anal and rigid about it, do a quick search, nothing turns up or it's a really old thread that has been high jacked, then sure, you betcha! Do it! Go ahead and re post that topic!
Since allot of members do like to and need to use the "search forums" features, I do have this one request to make kindly to ya'all...and that is to make the topic title either memorable and unusual, or keep it simple and title your new thread topic with a keyword or two that will let everyone know what the topic is.
It's hard to search for a specific thread when way too many topics titles are all the same, such as, for example....getting caught up in the dot dot dot syndrome...(I've been there, done it, learned a lesson the hard way, don't do it anymore)...the dot dot dot syndrome is posting vague titles like "Have you ..." "Would you..." "Can you..." "Could you..."
What kind of topics? What to post? Check the forum rules first, there's not that many, and they don't ask for much really, and be nice, no name calling or flaming please.
Other than what is in the rules, posting a new thread can be about anything, it can be a profound question, a silly question, you can relate a recent personal experience to us,(Voyuerbill uses this style very well) and last of all, don't worry that your post won't get replies, it might not right away, people logging in and out all day, and everyone has a difference of interests, I can guarantee you that your topic will be read, most likely replied to quickly, if not later, you will make yourself a part of a great community, make allot of new friends , and you will enjoy the whole experience allot.
Anyone else? Anyone of the regular posters here wanna offer a few words of encouragement? Anyone else wanna say how freakin' great it is to log in and see new names, new faces, new "voices" here on the forums?
Wow...now that I've made this lonnnng rambling post...I think it might be time to play a new game of "Guess how many pots of coffee Chazzy has had today"

Re: A few forum posting tips.....
I've said it before and I'll say it again, you're one smart, insightful, sexy broad!! Any chance you'd entertain the thought of jettisoning your significant other and venturing where no self respecting woman would dare?
Who's your daddy????

Re: A few forum posting tips.....
I just wanted to offer a few tips to make anyone hesitating, to jump on in...no one is gonna point and laugh at you (unless you intended to go for that kind of response!) we'll accept you and luv ya for it!
We've all been through those awkward "first post" feelings, we know what that's all about!

Re: A few forum posting tips.....
Okay....only been online a few minutes so far today....gotta remind ya'all to keep the hijacking to a minimum PLEASE!
Ya know, the ole saying applies here, "Everything in moderation"
If ya wanna hijack your own thread, that's one thing, but use courtesy for others please.

Re: A few forum posting tips.....
Okay..I'm asking ya'all ONE more time here, curb the hijacking...if you want to fuck up a thread, make sure it's YOUR thread, not someone elses!!!
Ya'all have never failed us before when it's been necessary to mention something of this nature to you, so we know we can count on you.
Hijacking is very rude...but it does happen, and it's a pretty hard thing NOT to do, I so understand that.
It's pretty simple, if a thread starts going "OFF TOPIC",
Then start a spin off thread, if you want to chat and flirt, go to the chatroom!
Please use courtesy when in the forums.

Re: A few forum posting tips.....
Hijacking is not cool, please people - just stick to the topic
PS: Don't be mad at the mods if they warn you, it's their job to keep the forums tight.
Thanks

Re: A few forum posting tips.....READ ME!
Hey CHAZZY, thank you for the compliment about my posting "style". Hell, I wasn't aware I had a freakin' "style". My high school English teacher would be so proud of me.......and she hated my guts!!!!
I use the spell check before I submit a post and I try to use words that impress the sh*t out of the reader, such as "bloviate", "vociferous", ect..... If only I knew their meanings?
If I'm guilty of one thing, it's the over-use of punctuation but.......f**k you, get over it!! At least it looks good.
