An open letter .........
This message goes out to all and any who abuse the responsibilty and privilage of the use and control over the Television remote control (clicker, to some)
JUST STOP IT!!! ...get a tv guide, check the cable listing channel, choose what is worth watching and put the fuckin' remote down!!
You see, your brain is wired to your thumb through your central nervous system...so you have the prepardness of your brain being aware of what your thumb is doing...NO ONE ELSE IN THE ROOM HAS THAT LUXURY!!!
Geezuz...trying to spend quality time watching an hour or two of television with you is as useless and senseless as trying to relax in a room full of strobe lights!!!
Okey dokey....I haven't had a decent good rant in awhile...I think this should "fill the bill"

Hmmmm...(holding arms out with palms up to mimic scales to weigh my options here)
Channel surfing......or listening to him whine about the remote not working......Channel surfing......or listening to him whine about the remote not working......awww hell, it would be easy to just trash and break the TV and blame one or more of the cats....

Re: An open letter .........
When I was married my wife actually was the remote hog. Now I am alone and my cat & dog don't like it at all . If they whine or sulk I have to put on the Animal channel for them. The cat lays on the ottoman & watches it more that the dog does, but the dog "alerts" at some of the animal sounds, especially wolves, coyotes, big cats, etc. Spoiled brats...

Re: An open letter .........
I always wanted to try this one... Take a piece of black electrical tape and place it over the sensor on the tv set. When you get the remote, remove the tape. After awhile, he'll think it only works for you. So he won't be so quick to grab it and start channel surfing...
By the way, does anybody remember what it was like before remotes were invented? It was one of the reasons why you had children. No wonder why were having a population slow down in this country...

Maybe that's why we have such high rate of divorce, after the remote has broken. The wives have banded together and are protesting doing their wifely duty.

Re: An open letter .........
Well, I was able to get the point across about the remote control constant channel surfing to the husband.
I hate to nag, but it was something that required allot of nagging, and if it wasn't for his thickheadedness, I wouldn't have to nag!!!
It all came down to a choice for him, continue his senseless clicking on the upstairs TV in our bedroom, and I'll choose to spend ALL my time downstairs, all night long...he's now learning the importance of compromise....
