diy
Are you a hands on handy type of person?
How many things do you prefer to do your self and what kind of jobs do you leave to professionals?
Things like mowing the lawn in summer, shoveling the walk in winter. Do you do your own auto repairs when possible? Do you mend your own clothes, and do plumbing, electric or home remodeling jobs?
What are some of the things you'd rather just do yourself, and what are some of the things you'd rather hire someone else to do, or delegate the chore to a friend or family member?
What influences your choice more, getting the job for you or the chance to get your hands dirty?

Re: diy
I do most if not all of my own auto repairs. There's only three places on a auto I won't go...1. The Carburator-too many moving parts, 2. The Transmission-too damn heavy and greasy for me, 3. The engine block itself- like the transmission, way too heavy and greasy to bother with...

Re: diy
I do all repairs that I can myself on house, car or motorcycle,or with the help of my son, brother,or nephew, but most of the time just me.I guess I'm a jack of all trades and a master of none!

Re: diy
I am Ms. DIY! Give me the jackhammer, the paint brush, I'll change an electrical outlet, do plumbing, fix a hot water heater, do sheet rocking, tape and spackle walls, change a water faucet, refinish flooring, redo bathroom tiling, put down flooring, refinish furniture, put in counter tops, help with roofing, use to change the oil on my cars, cut the grass, rototilled the garden, layed down concrete sidewalks, and patio blocks. I could go on and on, just like Chazzy and Moon, us gals know just how to do it.

Re: diy
I do all of except plumbing. I just hate that. If you wanna see a mood change.... It's not even safe to be a innocent bystander if I do any plumbing.

Re: diy
I'll try to do just about anything myself...hell, especially now with the wide resources you can find on the internet, specs, diagrams, trouble shooting charts, owner's manuals, etc...besides, I figure I can always hire an pro after I've tried it myself and screwed it up!

Re: Re: diy
I can do most things myself except work on cars. The cars of today take very expensive computers to diagnose the problem/s. This usually has to be done before you can really do much of anything.
