Is it LUST or ADMIRATION?
A discussion ensued at work among 5 of us guys and 1 female, whether a man can "admire" a female form without "lusting" after her. Most of the time, I can look at a female and I am able to enjoy the view, without lusting after her physically. I think most men feel and act the same as I do. A female member of our work group, on the other hand, felt that all we (males) want to do is " jump a female's bones" because we can't control ourselves. She feels we (males), are incapable of simple admiration of female's beauty without lusting after her physically.
My "sin" is I was born a male with certain attributes that make me look, "admire" and if mutually agreeable, even "lust" after a female. I will not repudiate my manhood just because I have those attributes. Hey, I'm a guy! Get over it.

If you find a female attractive, you're bound to lust after her, it's just the way it is. But you can admire her because she does her job well or whatever, without wanting to f*ck her.

Women do the same thing...only trouble is, it's usually behind your back...(They're staring at your butt)

I've had similar conversations with women and most of them don't believe women and men that are not married can have friendships either...it drives me crazy. I have men friends and they don't want to bed me down, we are just friends.

I agree. Also, lust and admiration are two different emotions that can be separate on their own or they can compliment and accompany each other in the impressions/feelings of either sex. People (M or F) that think that they have a handle on it with a blanket, ignorant statement are just that, ignorant and I wouldn't waste my time with them. Not for very long, anyway.

I was in a relationship, a few years back, where she told me that I couldn't see a girl friend I had, anymore. She had a double standard, because she would meet with her ex-boyfriend over coffee on mornings. She didn't trust me, but I was suppose to trust her. (Yeah Right) That relationship ended quickly. There was no way I was going to tell my friend that I couldn't see her anymore, over something that stupid...

I have no problems admiring women. I think they are very beautiful and pleasing to my eyes. Not unlike a beautiful sunset on a glorious summer evening. So maybe the question should be, can you lust and admire at the same time, without the need for sex?
