Jealousy and envy
Who did you, or do you envy the most? A Hollywood person, a sibling that gets all the attention, a best friend who just seems to drip and ooze good fortune?
When was the last time you just turned green with envy over what someone else owned, what they looked like, or the kind of life or luck they had?

Re: Jealousy and envy
Guess it would have to be rich people and actors. Them seem to think just because they have money they're special. They can buy anything, or buy their way out of anything. If the regular person did half their shit...we'd be buried under the jail...

Ya know, I have never in my life, been jealous of anyone or anything!! I AM envious of people who, through hard work or just good fortune, have attained some measure of wealth or success.
Say I'm in a casino and someone hits a jackpot on a slot machine near me? If I were the jealous type, I would feel miserable and thus have a crappy time. But on the other hand, I can be envious and be happy for that person. I can continue to have a good time. Jealousy just brings on bad feelings.
I think I did a lousy job explaining this, didn't I????

You did a great job in explaining it and I would agree with you, there's a vast difference between jealousy and envy (I wish that was me).

Re: Jealousy and envy
sometimes i might wish i had the money they appear to waste on silly things (for instance, a Louis Vuitton bag for $2600 ),but in all honesty, what other than money do they have? Fame can be fleeting, looks will eventually go, and family seems to be harder to hold together because of all the outside pressures.
I don't want any of that. I just want my family, my friends and a quiet slice of life with the ability to have a good time once in a while thrown in.
I am neither jealous nor envious of others, whether it be for money, fame or looks. I am quite content to be in my own little world and very selective who I/we allow into it.

Re: Jealousy and envy
More of the average working girl who can walk along looking like she's got class and when she walks into a room a person can tell if she's got strength (forget the word at this time... anyways), enough for people to know that she can carry herself through anything that comes her way without feeling like shes going to breakdown/fall apart. One who can stand up for herself.

You sound like you are one strong broad!! I, for one, can spot a confident woman the moment I see her. A strong, confident woman isn't a victim and she gives as well as she takes. That is a very attractive individual to any man with a pair. Men really like that. They don't feel threatened at all. This type of woman need not act like the alpha female because she COMMANDS respect and doesn't need to DEMAND it!!

Re: Jealousy and envy
This might be a thread on its own, but why is envy associated with the color, "green"? Last time I said someone turn green, they were about to become sick...
