Passing fads...
What was the last time you got caught up in the "latest rage" or the newest fad thing...was it a car, an elmo toy, a fashion fad, a hairstyle?

Re: Passing fads...
I tend to get the latest electrical gizmo that's just come onto the market. Pay a fortune for it, then six months later, you can buy one for a tenth of the price.

Re: Passing fads...
I hate, hate, hate it when the long sleek straight hairstyles come around, I've got very curly hair and I gave up a long time ago trying to follow that fad!

Re: Passing fads...
Thinking back on my clothing choices...sometimes I really had no choice but to follow a fad...it was all that was readily available on the racks...gawd, I really hated those days when jeans were high waisted, and super tight all the way down the calf and ankle and had to have zippers all over them just so you could get 'em on or off.

Re: Passing fads...
Im guilty of buying not one, but two of those ab energizers. Remember those battery powered things that you strapped around your waist and the electric waves were supposed to tone you into a 6 pack? Anybody else that fell for it will know what a pain in the ass they were!

Re: Passing fads...
During my adult years, I pretty much have stayed on a classic note, jeans and blouse/t-shirt. The 70's when I was a teenager, well that is a different story to a certain point, like hiphugger jeans, handmade haltertops out of those huge hankerchiefs.
Now just thinking about the 70's... pilazzo pants, leisure suits, wooden clogs, the shag haircut, mood rings.

I had a 'fro for about 5 years. around '74 on. Man, I thought I looked slicker than sh*t!!
My sister and brother-in-law have a thing for buying the newest and latest lap tops, video gear, cell phones, ect. There is a term for them, but it alludes me at the moment. They pay top dollar because they just have to have it when it first hits the marketplace. Actually, they own it before it becomes a fad. Example: My brother-in-law bought the first scientific calculator (HEWLET PACKARD), back around 1970 or so. He paid $1995. One year later, it sold for less than $800! He has wasted a lot of money this way.
