Vitamins, Herbs and Minerals
What are your thoughts about natural homeopathic approaches using vitamins, herbs and minerals? Do you use any?
Would you have a homeopathic Dr., over a regular Dr?
I personally would have a homeopathic Dr., over a regular Dr. anyday, but due to medical insurance, alot of them are not covered.
I do believe in vitamins, herbs, and minerals as supplements, and have used them in the past and use some of them currently.
I am thinking of becoming a vegetarian, or a vegan, I still need to look into this further, and someone yesterday told me to read "The China Study", it also has a web addy with the same name "The China Study".
I am just looking to see how many of you use any vitamins, herbs and minerals, I appreciate your input, and thank you.

Re: Vitamins, Herbs and Minerals
I do take a multi vitamin, along with B-6 & B-12, but most important, lecithin, which has to do with brain function, it's why I'm a friggin genius, no really it has completely stopped my migrains. After I was burned I started getting them, medicene, changing my diet didn't help, but a $7.00 bottle of vits., completely stopped my headaches. Also the chinese & indians had natural cures. You might check out indian or survival first aid. They had stuff for headaches, stomach aches all kinds of stuff they picked from herbs & roots.

To get around the insurance, find a Medical Doctor who has a homeopatic Dr. in his same office, their are quite a few around now. You see the Med Doctor first and he sends you in the wame office across the hall to the homeopath, and all the fees are handled thru the Med. Doctors billing system which is then covered by most insurance and PPO groups.

Have you heard about Laetrile (Vitamin B17), you can get it from apricot kernels and apple seeds. If you haven't heard about it, try Googling "Laetrile B17".

Re: Vitamins, Herbs and Minerals
Chinese medicine is the only way to go as far as I'm concerned. They treat the cause of the health problem and not just the effect, as western medicine does. Slightly off topic, but Tai Chi isn't just a martial art, it's also a fantastic way to keep yourself healthy. I haven't had so much as a cold, since taking it up.
Just got to give up alcohol and coffee.

Look into a product called "JuicePlus" its better than vitamins, its a whole food suplement, its top of the line for all health care especialy cancer defense, indications show they also want to use it for prenatal care instead of Isolated vitamins like shaklee, centrum, Natures way, ect. which are proven to cause other problems besides the metabolic stress they cause with your liver and kidney's which are constantly trying to expell them from the body, because they are not from whole foods they are syntheticly produced by man to mimic the real thing.

Re: Vitamins, Herbs and Minerals
For about the last 6 yrs I've taken a multi-vit and 2 -1000 mg of vit C twice a day (breakfast & bedtime). Haven't had a cold, flu, etc once in that 6 years. A cousin of mine in MN is a thorasic surgeon and told me back then to start doing the 4000 units of C every day and I'd never get a cold. Well, "Booger" (that's what we called him when we were kids) was right. Of course, now when I see him it's a matter of respect and I call him "Dr. Booger".
