Obsolete?
I was just watching a news feature on how no one uses wristwatches anymore, everyone has an alternative to keeping track of the correct time..like their cell phones and blackberries...so how many other things have you noticed heading towards extinction due to technology and such?

Re: Obsolete?
Don't use a map anymore, just type the postcode into TomTom and off I go. If it ever went wrong, I'd probably end up driving around in circles!

Re: Obsolete?
Other than my penis? hmmmm This is a little off subject, but I've noticed for several years now, if it wasn't for the cash register telling them, the cashiers at stores couldn't even begin to count back my change after buying something. Don't they have to learn math anymore?? So I guess because of the calculator, the one thing I've noticed that's obsolete is, The Brain!!

Re: Obsolete?
I reckon I'm old fashioned..... I still use a watch or just the clock in my van. Sometimes I'll reach for the cell phone.... if I even remember I have it on me! I couldn't live without my phone books. I get all excited when the new ones arrive

To answer your question......no children arent taught to solve math problems in there head anymore. The most they are taught is how to use that very expensive calculator that is required for Algebra Class. What happened to pencil, paper and brains?

I still wear a wrist watch. I feel naked without it.
