How many hours.....
Of sleep do you need, to function normally through the course of each day?
I wish the sandman would sprinkle a little more magical sand dust in my eyes, if I get three to four hours at a time, I am doing good

when I was younger, and still a student, I decided to conduct an experiment on sleep deprivation - on myself 
For a month I attempted to live in 48 hour days, i.e. I only slept every other night. It worked quite well for the first week, in the 2nd week I'd fall asleep any time I wasn't standing up, and after that I began to hallucinate - which had some interesting consequences. To this day there's thing I don't know if I really saw or just imagined. Like a guy going to the atm on a unicycle :/
These days I like to get about 6 hours sleep a night, but I can manage on less than 4 if I have to, and I can get as much as 10 if I have peace to do so

I don't go to sleep.. I lapse into comas..LOL.. Need a big alarm to wake me up.. But 6-7 hours usally works for me...!!!

I have the same problem.Homeopathic doctors say it is because your mind is racing, searching,and wandering for answers and reasons about your self, past loves, economic changes, present situation and future life. And you cannot let go of those all important unanswered thoughts not even for a good night sleep, that is why sleeping pills and ant-acids are the largest selling drugs in america. They say the best ways to fall asleep(without drugs) are deep breathing exercises and certain yoga movements.

I average about six hours a night usually if I want to sleep just set me in front of a TV set and I'm out like a light

Unfortuneately, I sleep about 4 hours a day during the week but put in about 14 on the weekend...It catches up with me!

14 hrs,,,,! do ya have a refrig in your bedroom? for a snack or something to drink my god, I could never stay in one spot that long,,,,unless,,,someone sexy was with me,,even then I would have the phone to order out

I would love to get 7 hours per night but rarely do...on days I work out I only need about 5 to 6 hours. Sleep eludes me lately so I'm running off 3 to four hours...not good!!!

Yep HH, my mind is racing - so I only get 4-5 per night and am not at a point where my left eye is constantly twitching from lack of sleep!

Constant eye twitching could be week eye muscle strain you may need glasses or a new prescription, as long as your eye is not also constantly watering, it is probably ok, you can go on Webmd or Medlineplus and just type in your symptoms or see an eye doctor would be my advice most of the time those little annoyances can be taken care of with something so simple.

Dunno if it has anything to do with being hyper, but I don't require as much sleep as my friends do. Some of them sleep all weekend, OMG, I don't see how they can stand it. If I get 4-6 hours in a nite, I can perform like a well oiled machine, OK so it's a old machine ---with worn parts

The hours vary for me. Sometimes it's 5 hours, sometimes it's 2 or 3. I'm a night owl. There ain't enough hours of sleep in the day to make me function right, anyhow, so it doesn't really matter
