Friday the 13t (paraskevidekatriaphobia)
Anyone have any superstitions? What kind of superstitions have you ever heard of? I don't know if walking under a ladder on the 13th, but I wouldn't do it anyways.

Naw, that's like so silly. Never could quite figure out what happened when that black cat cross in front of me when I was going under that ladder, just as the ladder fell and broke that mirror. Never quite been the same ever since.

Re: Friday the 13t (paraskevidekatriaphobia)
I think I'll just hide under the covers till Saturday. It all started last night... I went to a photo shoot in Boston with a teacher who wanted my help. He told me that it was in his old stomping grounds and after the shoot was over, we got lost leaving. We drove around for two hours, trying to find our way back to the main highway. I didn't make it home till about 3:am EST. Had to get up at six to get ready for school. Needless to say, I was late in getting there. Partly because of my dragging ass and partly because I tried to open the car door with my house key. Wouldn't you know it, it got stuck there. I pulled the key from the ring around it, and the ring pratically straightened itself. Keys went flying everywhere as the house key popped from the lock. I almost got hit by two cars as I was picking them up off the street. Thinking it couldn't get any worse, I tilted my coffee cup toward my mouth to take a drink and the cover came off. I had to go back in the house and rechange my clothes. I made it to school only a half an hour late, but it doesn't end there. I tried to plug in my flash drive into the computer, but the dried coffee, prevented me from getting the damn cap off. Without saying a word, I got up and proclaimed to the teacher that I was going home before something really bad happened. I've been here ever since, in my bedroom ready to nod off to a really rotten day. So ask me if I believe, and I'd say don't pass it off too quickly...

Re: Friday the 13t (paraskevidekatriaphobia)
Paraskeyi=Greek for Friday
deka tria=Greek for thirteen
There are many stories about why this day is feared. One is some type of mathematical thing that has something to do with Pythagoras (Greek mathematician). The one I heard was this: There were 12 apostles at the last supper, 13 people in all, including Jesus. Judas was the last one to show up, the 13th person. Friday is believed to be the day that Jesus was crucified... some even believe that Friday was the day that Adam and Eve ate the apple.
Just one of many stories.

Even Motels won't press their luck. Ever notice that there are no 13th floors in motels?? Air Force planes do not use the number 13 on their planes, nor do they count the 13th sortie, it goes from 12 to 14
