Reality
If you could, if you had the chance...which Reality TV show would you like to be on...Survivor, American Idol, Fear Factor, The Apprentice...I know there are so many others I couldn't think of to mention...

Re: Reality
I cannot stand any of these programs. They are all made up entirely of superficial, shallow asswipes BY superficial shallow asswipes, and they should all be stuck on one channel called the "Superficial Asswipe Channel". It's the networks and cable people's way of still making a gazillion $$$ from the sponsors without having to pay the "participants" (I won't call them actors).

Re: Reality
The so called 'Reality'shows just show how stupid people are and what kind of stupid things they'll do for money. Most are scripted anyway, and if loosing what dignity and pride you have in yourself for money is your thing...then guess you belong on one...in my opinion !!

I agree, Ma, that's the only one I have any interest in watching or competing in.

Re: Reality
The ones I mentioned are the most known or popular, I don't even watch them...but reality shows are in abundance on every channel, not just network....
I'd love to have someone else come in and remodel a room or two in my house like they do on some of the HGTV reality shows, but the one I would chose to be on is MTV's "Pimp My Ride"!!

I get into enough trouble in my own reality, so why would I take a chance on one of those shows, especially Fear Factor or Survivor. Sometimes fear of surviving reality is enough to not want to participate in these shows. Then to be exposed on national t.v.? I don't think so, but that is just my opinion.

Re: Reality
Geez....some very bitter, strong opinions on a subject of televised entertainment!
Reality TV covers so much more than just the few network staples of Surviovor and such...
Open up a little ya'all, I'm sure there is something out you can have a positvie thought about?
No one wants to be the next American Chopper winner and have Paul Sr. and Paul Jr. build you a bike?
Anyone think they could outrun Dog, the Bounty Hunter?
Have Mike Rowe do a "Dirty Jobs" segment about your job ?
Maybe a civil case decided by Judge Judy ?
Reality shows and reality TV exists and was created purely for amusement and entertainment!
So yeah...of course allot of these programs "just show how stupid people are and what kind of stupid things they'll do for money"...that's the point...that's what gives them their entertainment value, pro wrestling proves what crazy kinds of things people will do professionally just for money...choregraphed moves, bizarre costumes, ridiculus scripts and character maps....why I really can't diss the general public for being allowed a chance to indulge also.
It's nothing new, been going on since TV's existance, Candid Camera, Let's make a Deal, and before that, I'm sure there are plenty of radio examples too.

i'm NOT a reality show watcher at all. but i think it would be kinda cool to compete on the apprentice. i might just be a stay at home mom, with out a college degree (still working on that one) but i'm pretty smart, and i can manage people.

Re: Reality
The problem is they saturate the air waves with them. They're on every freaking channel and each one is worse than the other. All most do is teach kids that you can do dumbass things and maybe get paid for it. Old game shows and the such aren't even in the same class as these so called programs, that was entertainment, this is just drivel. In 'real' life Dog the bounty would be a dead dog at 1000m and in all the judge shows, the losers are paid from a fund. As quantity of them go up....quality goes down...but that's just my opinion...

Cool! I've only caught "Top Model" once, but ya know, I'm really surprised to discover that in my opinion, Tyra Banks is alright, not a half bad talk show host, and she has some very good opinions, beliefs, and life philosophy...better than most I've seen hosting shows lately!

i agree with you. last week i couldn't sleep and started flipping through the channels and ran across some show on VH1 'flavor of love' or something like that. basically a bunch of grown women were competing to be some washed up rapper's girl. it was a friggin train wreck, but luckily it was enough of one that it bored me to sleep. lol

I haven't seen "Iron Chef"...but have heard of it...isn't that where they are given certain ingredients to work with and see who comes up with the best dish? That would definitely count!
....and I could really see you on "The Apprentice", although I only watched it once, maybe twice...but hell yeah, I could definitly see someone like you who doesn't have all the preppie, uppiddity stuff going on for them, go right in there and show 'em all what it takes...just like I can really see Lizonya being on "Top Model" and showing those whiney boo-hooing little girls that it's beauty, grace, heart and soul that makes a woman gorgeous!

Re: Reality
iron chef is on food network in the evenings. it's pretty cool, they have 2 top chefs competing and they have to make 5 dishes in an hour usiong the secret ingredient of the day. (tofu, squid, eggplant just about anything goes) and thanks.. i could see me on the apprentice too, but i would probably get in trouble for smarting off. lol

Awww dammit, don't get the food network....
There's this show on the A and E channel I caught once, where you let this blind designer come in and redo a room of your house, he makes you decide on things blindfolded and make all your choices based on all your other senses, pretty wild really!

Wow...sounds cool...is it a cable show, or network? I do have the most basic of cables, don't have allot of channels to chose from...but I'd like to try to catch an episode of that...
I so hate not seeing "Monster House" on the Discovery Channel,

M Lev.. Lev, I think you may have hit upon a idea to eliminate the boring, scripted feel you get from all the "Reality Shows". That sounds like a show I could get into. Or as I've said before, give them a knife some string a tent & see if they can live off the land for a week. Kill or catch what you eat. I do that occasionaly when I go camping, stick all I need in a back pack, hike up in the hills , & let the land support me. Ok , to be honest, I take some canned soup & jerky just in case, but for most part, I live off what I catch, find or kill.Kindafun to do once in a while. But that being said, I like your idea Lev.

Re: Reality
I've seen "Reality" Shows on every channel, even the Animal Channel has had plenty of them...one is the standard formula, called something like "King of the Jungle" where contestants vie to be the host of their own animal and wildlife show, it was hosted by Jeff Corwin, and one where someone comes to your home and helps you train your badly behaving pet, and one called "Backyard Habitat" where they come to you home, and redo your yard and land in a manner to attract certain wildlife to your backyard...
