Not just at the moment, but it's always been William Faulkner.

Re: Favourite Author
I like the classic authors like Hemingway, Orwell, Tolstoy, Tolkien etc. But I was thinking more along the lines of the popular authors that have a book published every few years or so.
Chazzy, I haven't read anything by William Faulkner, what would you recommend?

Re: Favourite Author
I may not have the exact titles right...but "The Barn Burner" is very memorable to me, and there's one I can't remember the title to (Most of my favorites were his short novels)was about a little boy out hunting and killing cottonmouths, and yet another about hunting bear...

Re: Favourite Author
I've read a few of Dan Browns books myself, even though the "Da Vinci Code" was a complete rip off of "Holy Blood, Holy Grail" it was still a good read (film wasn't too bad either)

R.L. Stine, the one who rights "Goosebumps" got into writing adult horror a while back. I read his first attempt, "Superstitions." Two thumbs up!

I'll do that if you read some Dean Koontz... He's much better than Stephen King in my opinion. The first book of his I read was "Midnight." Scared the hell out of me!

Re: Favourite Author
well, lets' see.... Stephen King, Robin Cook, Clive Cussler, Dean Koontz, Christopher Paolini, Mercedes Lackey, I could go on, lol, but I'll only add one more. John Saul. I used to read EVERYTHING by him, but one scared me so bad I did not sleep for a month. Never again.
Other than that, I'm always willing to try a new author!

Re: Favourite Author
I very hate dan brown, I've read all his books, so mine is a qualified hate too! it's like once you've read one of his books you've read them all, plus if you know any of the facts or science behind his books if feels like he's not even spent most of an afternoon researching them. I thought the squillion processor computer in Digital Fortress was a laugh though
Anyway, what I do like to read is Stephen King (read almost all of his books now, even the woefully bad ones ) and I'm getting into Dean Koontz. Jodi Picoult appeals to my girlie side (ever notice how women write men as if we have emotions and talk about colours like fuschia? is frikkin pink!!) and Terry Pratchett is good too, really, really, really good

John Grisham -in one way or another he weaves a usually fast paced story pitting the "little guy" against the formidable Beast, "The System" in various forms.

That reminded me that I also like Frederick Forsythe. I don't know why...
Possibly because Forsytle and Grisham both intensely research their subjects, which shows in their books

well Forsythe is to the Military as Grisham is to the Legal System I'm sure if you read up on him you'd at least know some of the films of his work
