Security
How secure do you like, or need your home, yourself and/or your auto to be?
Do you use security systems at home, how about auto alarms, the "club" or other devices?
Can you still sleep soundly with the windows open for the night breeze? Can you dash off to the market, and not lock your door behind you knowing you'll be back in a short time?
Do you follow any saftey guidelines when you're out and around, like having your keys ready in your hand while walking through a parking lot? A can of mace reachable?
Self defense classes?

Re: Security
We all would like to be secure, no matter where we are. But the truth be told, that none of us are. We can take all the precautions in the world, but some one somewhere will f**k it up. I don't lock my doors at home, but I do lock my car, always. I always worry when MA has to walk somewhere, even just up town. You just never know when some drunk will run up one sidewalk, or some ass just wants to be an ass. We don't have the gang problems, as we are a very small town, as the business district goes, but still have less than 5 thousand people in population. Not something that has been a real problem, for us anyway. I know that there have been a lot car break-ins, mostly from dumb ass kids, looking for a radio or CD's. All though I'm more worried about MA lately as our next door neighbor is one of those F**KING Cho-Mo's assholes, and who knows when/if he would graduate to adults. That would not be a pretty site, for him that is. Being I work the afternoon shift.

Re: Security
We can leave the windows open at night around here.... Not much crime in these parts... besides that, if anyone tries to break in, they'll get 5 sets of canines in their ass! Not to mention a bullet hole. As for the cars, we keep 'em locked. No alarm systems, though. I do keep a sharp eye out on my surroundings when I go anywhere. I hold my keys between my fingers, ready to put an eye out at any moment. I also don't go anywhere without my pocket knife.. and after many years of practice, I can open it with one hand in a split second!
Always be aware of your surroundings, especially the ladies!

Re: Security
Where were at is probably one of the safest places in Calif. We never lock the doors or the cars either. Our small town, of around 300 people, just know better. There are 2 businesses here and wer're one of them. No one screws around here...they never know when someones home, and they do know they will be shot on site if the try pulling anything. There are no cops ...it takes them over a hour to get here, so your on your own. Even the 80 year old ladies are packing...and we do to..everywhere !! No gangs or their crap here...they'd never make it alive...Our place was designed to repel 20 -30 armed intruders...you can take it from there...

Re: Security
This town's pretty secure. We have twenty-five cruisers to fifteen-thousand people, not to mention, two motorcycle cops, four bicycle patrolers, six SWAT officers, and our own CSI on wheels. This place is buttoned up so tight, you spit and someone is already writting you a ticket. I laugh all the time. A simple traffic stop looks like a crime scene on tv. As far as locks on the doors go, never had them, probably never will. My truck is another thing al together. Always locked so good that sometimes I forget the key is still in it...As a matter of fact...shit, I gotta go check something...brb.

Re: Security
I always lock my car and my place. One time I did not lock my car, I had my purse stolen and everything was in there but the cash. My place, have enough things that I don't want to worry about being stolen.

Re: Security
should add to the prior post:
My purse was stolen... and the people that lived in the next set of apartments at the time, found my purse in their garage, a year later. That's how I knew everything was still there but the cash.

Re: Security
Feel relatively safe here. Have a 90# Labrador (if he doesn't wake up immediately the damn cat will let him know about it!), good neighbors, lock-up every night or when I'm gone and a 25cal., .308, .3006, and ADA system. Crap, didn't used to have to live like this did we?
