Celebrities/Famous people you've met?
This is really going to date me, but I lived in Santa Clara, CA for 4 years in the early '80s. I met James Garner (Rockford), Carroll O'Connor (Archie Bunker) and Suzanne Somers. Still have their autographs. I met Garner in San Jose, CA who was visiting his brother who was a SJ city cop who was a friend of mine. (The cop's last name was Baumgarner, I was told that JG's original last name was also Baumgarner.) The 3 of us went fishing on a charter boat once near Monterey. I met O'Connor and Somers at a party/BBQ thing in Sunnyvale, CA at the house of a friend who was a Maserati (sp?) dealer there. O'Connor was there because he knew my friend and was buying a car for his son (the one that acted for a few years on the TV series "In The Heat of the Night" and then died of a drug overdose). I remember (naive at the time?) being surprised that Somers was NOT the ditz she played on "Three's Company"! She was investing in real estate like crazy in San Francisco. I was happy to meet them all back then and really enjoyed meeting them, but I guess I thought I would live there forever and wasn't overly impressed by any of the experiences at the time. They were all very nice (unassuming, normal acting, sincere) people, but it's only recently that these experiences have left much of an impression upon me when I look back and remember. I guess I must be getting old.
What celebrities or famous person(s) have you met and what was your impression of them?

i've got rod stewarts autograph when i met him at the u2 concert in los angeles in the 80s. i've met sally fields at disneyland. bought david bowie a drink at the rainbow room in hollywood in the 70s. had drinks with byron scott & michael cooper at charlie's chili in hollywood. remember them from the lakers years ago? i was an extra in a movie with Tony Curtis and got a picture of him w/his arm around me (the silver fox). he was the biggest flirt! met the ramones at huntington bch in the 70s ~ joe perry of aerosmith, and david lee roth of van halen ~ i'm sure there are more but that's enough for now.

i was a waitress when i was 17-18 and i waited on clint black after he did a concert in college station, texas. in 1993 (i was 14)i saw chuck norris walking through the mall, and asked him a really stupid question. (he has a ranch about 30 miles or so from my home town)

ive met a few of the wwe wrestlers kane, al snow, john cena and an old wrestler hillbilly jim, ive met doug bradly who played pinhead in the hellraiser films, i've also met tyler mane who played sabertooth in the x-men films.

I live such a sheltered life. None of those folks would even dare to show up in this honky ass red town. But I've been on TV a couple times, once in St. Louis. Of course my picture is always present, at the Post Office anyway...LOL

I met President Richard Nixon in 1975 when I entered a art contest in Washington D.C. after winning the Kans. art contest, I met Raquel Welsh in Vegas when she tried singing, her top fell down during the show, she tried to act embarassed, but not the first time she bared her boobs, right? I was one of six F-16 pilots that flew along side Gerald Ford when he was campaining for election, I partied with the entire "Eagles" band once in Fargo North Dakota, cuz my girlfriend at the time was a model who knew them & finally just as Bill Clinto was in the final weeks of his term, he came to Kearney Nebr., 65 miles from me, so I stood in a long line in the hot sun just to shake the hand that held the famous cigar

Where should I start?... The most recent was during the last weeks of the Bush re-elections. I was in a New Hampshire mall when someone grabbed my shoulder and spun me around, forceably shook my hand while photos snapped away. (John Kerry) Which is why I distrust politicians...
About a dozen years or so ago, I met Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn in a bar/grill next to my home town. They were scouting a location for a movie and came in for dinner. The place was empty except for me, my buddy and a couple of bar regulars. We hit it off almost immediately, because Kurt and I share the same birth date. After their dinner they played a few games of mixed doubles darts with us. Goldie and I blew them away 4 out of 5 games... Before that, I was standing in line at a Revere roast-beef place. My buddy told me that it was not uncommon to see celebs in line. The line we standing in stretched for a 1/4 mile. These two tall guys were cutting in line behind me. Then I felt a tap on the top of my head and a low voice said, "Excuse us". Without turning around, I said, "There's no excuse for you". They laughed and cut in front of me anyway. My buddy was flabber-gasted. Apparently I had dissed Robert Parish and Larry Bird. I didn't care who they were, it was a long line and I was starved... Oh, yea... Somewhere in between all that, I was a security guard at a local fairground. (Kingston) I met and partied with such bands as; Molly Hatchet, Rush, DIO, Huey Lewis, and Phil Collins when he was still in Genesis to name a few. I don't remember much from those two summers. As a security guard, you need to confiscate contraband and alcohol...Someone had to take it all home...
I was either stoned, drunk or both those summers. (Ah youth!)...

I rode with John Diefenbaker, former prime minister of Canada in an elevator of the Bessborough Hotel in Saskatoon, SK in the mid 1970's. I was so in awe that I could not speak. I always had respect for him.
I talked with Edward Bear and his band during a break of their show in Saskatoon back in the early 1980's. They were playing at a club where my wife and I were with some friends.
In 1970 my brother and I saw the band Chilliwack in Chilliwack, British Columbia a few years before they made it big. They were just a bunch of young teenagers then and they were playing at a mall.
I talked with the lead singer of Lost Highway this summer in Stony Plain, AB at the Blueberry Bluegrass Festival. He is a cool guy and down to earth.

Only ones that was considered famous enough for you guys to actually recognize was the members of the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, got a tee shirt signed by them all after their concert.
Have a relative on paternal side that was about to go 'famous' with his band but they split up (for what, i don't know).
Also, another relative on the same side of the family, is in relations with the Vikings Cheerleaders. I have a whole calendar signed by the crew. She was one of the cheerleaders, then went on to be Co-Captain.. and to this day, don't know if shes still in the same position from what I last heard.

As a teenager, I worked at 6-Flags-GA.
I met Marie Osmond and her husband (like around early 80s).
Also, some band members of Paul Revere and the Raiders and another group called Mother's Finest.
