Mental or physical?
Is your day to day life more mental, or physical?
What would you guess the ratio between the two to be for you?
60/40 for me, as a guess
(Your first number is mental, second...physical)

Re: Mental or physical?
80% mental for me. I swear, that can be more tiring than physical.

Re: Mental or physical?
I'm rearing an infant daughter. It's 90% physical for me. My mind is blown, (and was obviously blown about 9 months before she was born - what was I thinking?)
I saw a woman with 2 young daughters yesterday - about 3 and 1 - they were out of control - screaming and running around the parking lot; she was frazzled and I could tell she was about to "Blow". I almost cried - knowing that in a year or two - that it will be me who is in that parking lot about to kill.

Don't ever let it get to that..... or don't ever let it happen again after the first time. You'll be just fine
As for me, I try to make it at least 95% physical and 5% mental. I don't like using my brain too much... it hurts
I'd say it's about half and half. Especially back when I was working.

Re: Mental or physical?
For me its 90% mental and 10% physical, and thats because I have to climb 4 flights of stairs about 10 times a day. But if I'm really busy with the unrulies, its more like 20% mental and 80% physical. Just depends on how the boys are acting.

Re: Mental or physical?
Probably about 70% physical and 30% mental. Work requires a lot of walking, lifting, carrying, etc. Then the mental part kicks in as for where I need to go for each delievery I make throughout the day as well as pulling work orders with math being refreshed in mind.

Re: Mental or physical?
When I had a job it was 5% mental, 95% physical. Now that I'm unemployed and in school it's the other way around. Though, I'm not quite used to using my brain yet. If you don't believe me, check out the thread response in, "Ever wake up..." That's typical for me these days...

DITTO,,for me,,,I work out 4 days a week and swim twice a week, and I jogg a mile and walk 3miles every day, nothing physical even comes close to bothering me, so I guess I would have to say 100% mental thinking about realestate and my adult children who will not leave home.

Re: Mental or physical?
I have to say 10% Mental (depends on how messed up things got from the bosses)and 90% physical. I'm on the move,on my feet no sitting except on fork lift or breaks, for 8 hours at work. Longest brake is lunch and that is 15 minutes. (if the boss does not find me).

Re: Mental or physical?
99% mental. I'm writer -- articles, books, and soft-core porn at websites like WN.
The 1% comes from the effort to move my fingers on the keyboard.

As a father of 3 daughters, I can tell you that that screaming from kids is a preventable occurance. I told my daughters early in their lives that I would not tolerate them acting up in public. No way, no how!! I refused to be embarrassed in public by bratty kids and I impressed it upon my girls early on. I would not tolerate it and they knew it. I can tell you honestly, I never had to lay a hand on my girls and I never threatened them or called them names to get their attention. I just taught them the proper way to act in front of people. I brought them into this world and it was my duty to see to it that they learned to behave.
I'm proud to say that my grandkids (great kids), are being taught to act civiized by their parents. I hope I had a little to do with that.

Re: Mental or physical?
I have to say 100% mental and a 100% physical. Now I expect your saying to yourself this Loner is really crazy, can't be done. Well let me tell you first hand it can be done and it is done every day by thousands of soldiers and guys like me working over here in the Sand Box and the Stan. Mentally every day I set foot out side this base I have to use every instinct and sense I have to stay alert and always watching. Even when you sleep you half sleep to listen for things that fly through the sky at night and I do not mean birds or bats. Physicaly we are armed 24/7 and carry 40 lbs of body armor. So I got you all on this one. Now at times I talk to myself alot, get cross-eyed and walk into walls and drawl a lot but hey it's another day and I am one day closer to home and the normal 50%-50%, 60%-40%, 20%-80% who knows LOL
