Re: Scariest movie?
There's a few that I thought were scary. Only one of them really got me scared (for the most part) for one of the world's natural resources ever since I was a kid.

Thirteen Ghosts.... still wanders through my mind time to time... pretty freaky.

2 movies. The original "The Hills Have Eyes" and one called "I Spit on your Grave". I will never watch either of those again as long as I live!

one that just freaked me out but was SOOOOOOOOOO good the first time around is "Saw"..I did not expect the ending, for certain!

Re: Scariest movie?
Hmmm, well I have tried watching them, even got through a few, but "Jeepers Creepers" was the worst I ever sat through. My daughter and I stayed up late and watched it, and couldn't go to bed - we had to pull out the sofa bed and sleep there with the lights on

Re: Scariest movie?
I have to agree with Lilithbifem...no doll movies and definitely for me no freaky scary clowns either!

However...give me a good ol' fashioned Friday the Thirteenth, Halloween (music still creeps me out) or Nightmare on Elm Street...those all still work even though I can tell you frame for frame what will happen next....

Re: Scariest movie?
I do not get scared by these movies. I like them becaue they usually make me wonder if these thing are possible. Same as sci-fi movies.

I am going out to find a Chucky doll as i write this

When my youngest son was young, I bought him a My Buddy doll, he took that doll everywhere, til his older brother starting watching the Chucky movies, that was it, I had to burn it outside, so he knew it was really gone.

Re: Scariest movie?
You have a point, Jus.

I should have made myself a little more clear, lol. In all actuality, I LOVE scary movies, the two I named are just the ones I will NEVER watch again. They just scared me way too badly. Of course, I was only 17-18 years old when I first saw them, but the impression remains the same.

I have to say, I like Vampire and werewolf movies the best, with Mummy movies a close third. Pshychologically scary movies I think, scare me the worst. I have seen "Jacob's Ladder" and it gave me the creeps in a very large way. I think those kinds of movies give the worst scare because whether we know it or not, they contain things that lurk in our subconcious and are never actively thought of, because they scare us too badly.

good choice PP, but i would say that the scene in the hollywood remake of the ring, when she crawls out of the tv kinda freaked me out. and there hasnt been many horror films that have done that. but im a huge hellraiser fan so they would have to be my favs.

Re: Scariest movie?
Like Pepper, I thought the saw was very intense!.....As well as The Saw 2.....I like more of the suspense than the actual horror....Horror movies to me are just fake......The ones like The Ring, The Grudge, The Skeleton Key, Seven......they are the kinds that I find scary!.....

Although when I was a teenager, Friday the 13 scared the shit out of me!......Anymore I find them more on the funny side and can tell everything that will happen next the first time you watch it!...

Re: Scariest movie?
I remember being in Dallas with my dad and brothers for the weekend while they were doing some work when we lived in Arkansas. They turned on the exorcist . I had to put on head phones and read a book! Scared the livin' shit out of me! I was about 11 at the time.

Then there's the evil dead where that ... woman... tries to get out of the cellar! Corny but scary!

I watched Dark Water the other night. It was kind of creepy but I cried like a baby at the end

Mary Shelley's "Frankenstein" is one of my all time favorite scary movies. Not that I find it all that scary, lol. Never seen the Cape Fear remake, entirely, def one of those that creeps me out. Love Deniro, but he did TOO good a job with that one.

Well, that and pretty much anything to do with satan (Omen, Exorcist, etc). Don't know why that freaks me out so much.

Schindler's List

I once made the mistake of watching this in the morning. Visiting the Washington D.C. Holocaust Museum in the early afternoon, and then stopping at the Gettysburg Battlefield on my drive home. I think, it was the single saddest day of my life.
