Female Athletes
Is it right for the media to use extremely attractive female sports stars physical appearance to add popularity to their sport eg. Natalie Gulbis (golf) Maria sharapova (Tennis), Danica Patrick (How would she do in NASCAR Pepper)?

I don't think it's right for the media to force ideas of what is beautiful on young girls , but they do it anyway, and we have children in elementary schools already dieting ,suffering from eating disorders, self esteem problems and considering plastic surgery!
I do think an athlele should represent their sport based on their athletic ability, and their ability to be a role model for the young that worship them.
Looks, good or bad, should not be a factor.

i guess the reason i thought of it is because i just went to a golf demonstration where Natalie Gulbis was playing with 3 men (azinger, watson, and ? i forget) and all they could talk about was how hot she was...and she was, but she also had mad game on the golf course.

Of all the sports shown on TV, NASCAR, Golf, and Tennis don't have the marketing dollars that Baseball and Football have. So I guess female spokesmodels show two things;
1. Sexy women can bring in the dollars...
2. Sports are not just for guys anymore...
