Do the "numbers" prove it?
Since the "views" count column has been added, I've had a chance to see just how many read the forums, but choose not to post....and something else I've noticed.
When there are only a few people showing in the "who's browsing the forum" the view count can rise up to 30, 40, even higher... I assume that tons of people reading the forums have thier pivacy settings on "profile not visible for others to see"
So...you lurkers...and NOW I know you're there reading this, if anything about forum posting is intimidating, confusing,etc....but you would like to try...just send a message to a moderator, or reach out to a regular poster, and just ask us anything at all like "How do I post" "What is a thread?" and we can explain it for you, and even walk you through your first post step by step!
Give it a shot...we really want you here with us.

And may I just add, that the forums and the chatroom are the best place to meet people , you can learn quite a lot about someone!

Re: Do the "numbers" prove it?
Well, PP, yes you may add...and add some more please!, since we do know now that the lurkers are reading the forums in "stealth" mode...
First I'll define what a "forum" is...a forum is kinda like a bulletin board and is often called a message board.
A forum is where you can leave a comment or question by posting it, and then others can reply to you with their comments, remarks, and questions.
What other definitions, or guidance do ya'all think you can add to this that'll make it easy for someone to go from lurker to poster?
Show 'em just how much you would like to see new faces and fresh opinions here by showing how helpfull you are willing to be.
Lurkers, if you are a little skiddish, or self conscience about posting....do a little test post right here!
Just hit the "post reply" button, type something even if it's just "hello" click on "submit" and let us know you wanna try, and someone will be here to walk you through, make you feel comfortable, and no one, no one will make fun of you, snub you or anything negative at all!

Re: Do the "numbers" prove it?
OK, I'll add some more then, you asked for it
Perhaps many -especially men- think that there is no need to post in the forums since you can send pm's to whoever you're interested in. Especially now that everybody can send a pm, it sure gives the opportunity to say a lot more to someone than just the couple of words in a naughty note. However, there are so many reasons that this is not the only approach to someone. Here are a couple:
1. Let's say you send a pm to the "hotfemlooking". Do you think you're the only one? How original can you be to stand out from the ton of pm's that she receives? How can you stand out? Forums is the answer!!!
2. I have noticed that from all the people that have checked my profile, 99% were browsing the forums at that time. Apparently, they saw my posts and checked out my profile because perhaps they thought what I was saying was interesting or funny or whatever. The point is that my nick shows up in so many more pages than someone's who has never posted and will only appear IF I do a search and IF the criteria I'll use match his/her profile.
3. When you write in the forums, you say your spontaneous opinion on a subject. You don't SELF-PROMOTE yourself - at least not directly as you would in a pm trying to trigger interest towards you. You're being more relaxed, you are not compared to anyone, and most important: SOMEONE WILL ANSWER!!!
That's my two euros

I like seeing the amount of views to my posts. Most of the other sex forums offer it. so it's good to know actually how many are even viewing your posts. Great idea!!!!!
