Celebrity trash and bash...
The only thing I have to say about the Mel Gibson thing is...I'm just damn glad that someone has bumped off Joline and Pitt off the headline entertainment news for awhile...
I don't follow celebrity news much...but anyone have any opinions or comments about Mel, or any other celeb, break 'em out...I'm listening...trash, bash and gossip!

I don't follow them, don't really care what they do. These people, just like pro athletes, have egos that make politicians cringe. I feel that if they do something wrong, they should pay double for their stupidity.

Re: Celebrity trash and bash...
I always thought that when a person's drunk and spurts out something off the wall, it's what they really mean and believe in. But there are those few exceptions where you say some off the wall crap that makes no sense!
I could never hate Mad Max!!!

Mel always had a high temper. This is also what has helped make him so famous. I think that this will not amout to much and wish him well.

Re: Celebrity trash and bash...
I think it was pretty stupid to have been drinking and then doing eightysomthing in a 45 mph zone. However, I agree with the fact that Im glad that theres something in the headlines other than Brad and Angela. And what the hell makes their baby so special. And everytime I hear TomKat, I wanna hurl! Another one about the baby. Who the hell cares?

QUOTE (bikerchick69 @ August 3, 2006, 18:56)What did Mel say anyways? I never really did follow up on it. Supposedly, alotta anti-semetic remarks. What I dont like was that the arresting cop was Jewish and he went through all that crap a few years ago with Passions of the Christ. Having been in a similar situation a few years ago, I tend to side with Mel. Im in Buffalo and we got 6 ft of snow in 2 days. I was on my way home, and yes, I'd had some wine, but I literally had to cross a double yellow because there was so much snow piled up. Not veering, not drunk. No other way to go down the road. The cop that saw me not only pulled me over, but called for back up. Im 160 lbs and clearly posed no threat. They arrested me, impounded my car and wrote on the police report that I was vulgar, resistive and belligerent. Anyone that knows me personally knows that theres no way that I would EVER behave like that, especially knowing the gravity of what was going on and even if I was drunk outta my mind. The cop lied because it brought him more time in court and ultimately, more overtime. I actually heard him in court saying that he loved going to court because thats how he paid for his boat and his Harley. The point is, cops lie. If I'd have been the judge, even I would have convicted me based on what the cop wrote. And yes, I had a REALLY bad lawyer. Was Mel wrong for drinking and driving? Sure. I just dont beleive what the cops say.

Re: Celebrity trash and bash...
Thanks for the reply. I completely understand what you're saying on the whole don't believe what cops are saying. Although, in my situation, I have a very close relative whose a retired officer and he's always been very honest and straight up because that's just how he is. I suppose it just depends on the person's character. Although some may abuse this power they have with the law as well. Just my opinion though.

I agree. I know ALOT of really great people that are cops. I didnt mean to imply that all cops are like that. There's unscrupulous people in every walk of life. I was just relating my situation because a was a blatant abuse of the system. In Mel's case, until they produce the dashboard cam showing him saying those things, it wouldnt surprise me if the cop was trying to get his 15 minutes at Mel's expense. Think about it, even if he was Hitler's grandson, why would he start saying the things they say he said when it had nothing at all to do with what was happening to him at that time? Too many things about it that dont make sense to me and I havent seen anything to substantiate it. Just my opinion.
