Love letters and locks of hair...
Do you have mementos stashed away of past relationships? Shoe boxes of love letters, concert and movie ticket stubs, dried rose from a bouquet, things that a past love left behind, and you just can't throw away because of sentiment?
If you do, are they stored away, do you ever drag these things out and reminisce, or leave them packed away in an attic or closet?
If you are currently involved seriously with someone, does their souvenirs to past lovers bother you?

Re: Love letters and locks of hair...
Nothing saved but good memories.
I was an ass to my wives and know these marriages failed mostly because of me.
I do have many god memories though and cherish them very much.

Re: Love letters and locks of hair...
I am a saver - trying to reform. So, I have kept a few things from a past crush - but did manage to toss it 5-6 years ago. It was not a threat to my husband in any way. We on the other hand had boxes and bags full of love letters from 20 years ago. We both had kept them all while he was away. So, this year about 2 weeks before our 19th anniversary I decided to clean it out - read each one, saved those that were really important or meant a lot and yes, threw away the rest! Now I am down to one shoe box.

Re: Love letters and locks of hair...
I normally don't save old letters mostly because of space, but I have one special friend for over 20 years and I started saving everything he sends me. Of course it is easier because a lot of it is email, but I have to admit it is nice to go back and read where we were before and wow we have come so far...

I hope the women that I have written to have not saved anything, they could probably Black Mail me with them

Re: Love letters and locks of hair...
Since I like scrapbooking, i do have a few pictures of one from back in 9th grade. Otherwise... yeah i do try to keep some stuff that is worth keeping. If not, then i'll give it away or throw it away.

Re: Love letters and locks of hair...
I had soooo many things from my first actual girlfriend when I was 19. Especially letters and pictures, the four years that we were together we must have had more than 4-5,000 pictures! About 3 years ago I went through the big box, kept about 10-20 of them and threw the rest away.

Re: Love letters and locks of hair...
I'm a clean slate/fresh start kinda girl...I don't have anything from past relationships, I've thrown away the photos and letters, gave away the jewelry, and will even turn off the music or change the radio station if one of those "our songs" starts playing, after a time, the sentiment fades and I can again listen to those songs without having old boyfriend flashbacks.

Re: Love letters and locks of hair...
I know all of my ex's have my name written on their heart with golden letters... Most of them can't get over me. Can't blame them really, I'm just so perfect.
No, really, I have never thought of that, and it's very interesting what others might keep as a memory, be it an object or whatever...

Being perfect scares me.
lol.
You wouldn't want me then, I'm those clumbsy, don't think about what I say or do types. Guess that just makes me, ME.

And we would not want it any other way. We want you to be you, nothing more and nothing less.

It's nice to be impulsive (is that the word?) sometimes, but I just can't do that. I want to know where I'm standing and think of what I'm doing next. Aaaaand

Re: Love letters and locks of hair...
I know... a bit off topic. Don't think I'm always an impulse type. Not what I've been told though.
Anyways,... Kinda hard with this topic because it kinda depends for each individual. Some may throw away all that they have of the 'special' one at the time, or may keep them all. I think it has a lot to do with, for anyone, how they felt about the whole thing maybe??
