Fahrenheit 9/11
Top Ten George W. Bush Complaints About "Fahrenheit 9/11":
10. That actor who played the President was totally unconvincing
9. It oversimplified the way I stole the election
8. Too many of them fancy college-boy words
7. If Michael Moore had waited a few months, he could have included the part where I get him deported
6. Didn't have one of them hilarious monkeys who smoke cigarettes and gives people the finger
5. Of all Michael Moore's accusations, only 97% are true
4. Not sure - - I passed out after a piece of popcorn lodged in my windpipe
3. Where the hell was Spider-man?
2. Couldn't hear most of the movie over Cheney's foul mouth
1. I thought this was supposed to be about dodgeball

Re: Fahrenheit 9/11
I have'nt seen the movie and I think I probably never will. Here's why:
I used to enjoy and respect Michael Moore's stuff until I saw "Bowling for Columbine". In it he tackled the causes of violence in the USA. When it came to examining the role firearms and their availability played in the high murder rate, he compared the USA to Canada.
Canada has a significantly lower murder rate per capita than does the USA. Michael Moore went to Canada and said that the lmurder rate was lower IN SPITE OF the availability of firearms. The movie showed interviews with Canadians talking about how prolific firearms were there.
I can tell you as a Canadian that that is unadulterated BS! Canada does not have firearms everywhere. In fact, you can't get a handgun legally unless you have a specific NEED for it and pass a police security check (in person at a police station).
The only handguns I've seen here were carried by police officers and a private detective I used to develop electronic devices for. Security guards cannot carry them, and you can't have one for 'Home Defense'.
You just don't see handguns in private hands - EVER! In far out rural areas (which probably contain less that 10% of the population) shotgun use is typical but not pandemic.
So, that showed me that I couldn't trust Michael Moore's documentaries at all. If he is willing to lie about that for artistic license then his movies cannot be considered documentaries no matter how much he makes then seem like it.
BTW I recently returned to Canada after working for AMD as an Engineer at Austin, Texas. I bought a 9mm handgun from someone's home and later sold it to a police officer across the street from my office. In Texas gun show sales are not subject to the waiting period!
Actually, I have to say: God bless Texas! I loved it there. Only a divorce drove me back to 'Politically Correct' Canada.
Oh, and to make this post sex-related: BOOBIES!

Thats interesting because Ray Bradbury was recently in the news trying to get Michael Moore to change the movie title because it was too similar to "Farenheight 451". Michael dismissed the idea that he stole the title.

Re: Fahrenheit 9/11
Fahrenheit 911 is nothing but useless political trash. Michael Moore doesn't even try to make a story, just throws out his leftist agenda and smear campaign. At least the "Anti-Bill Clinton" movie "Primary Colors" had a story and was amusing. I walked out on Fahrenheit 911 after about 35 minutes.

Re: Fahrenheit 9/11
cant speak for everyone over here of course, but the general verdict seems to be..
we all thought 'bowling ' was terific film making.
As for F9/11 some dam interesting observations but it doesnt all add up, think most people see it as a distortion of the facts to make one sides beliefs seem credable.

i'm so far on the left, i'm almost to the right.
i don't intend to see it. i don't need a movie to tell me what to think.i have my dad to do that. not that it works. he thinks i am way too conservative.
i prefer movies with spaceships blowing up.

Re: Fahrenheit 9/11
I am neither a democrat or a republican. I vote for libertarians whenever possible. With the current crop of prominent democrats, choosing one as a president is like picking between Lenin and Stalin. G.W. doesn't represent my political ideals either, nor does anyone who would sacrifice the environment to keep oil prices cheap.
I just don't agree with Michael Moore's half truths, (in 911 and in bowling) and use of clippped and edited film and speech to change lines and situations. These movies aren't documentaries, they are propaganda straight out of the old soviet days.
now can we talk about sex.

Re: Fahrenheit 9/11
See, the republicans don't exactly agree with my sexual lifestyle. Being Bisexual is just as big a sin to the Religious Right as being gay . As long as the republicans continue their war against gays and lesbians, I can't support them as a party. As long as the dems are supported by George Soros and Michael Moore, two people who want to eliminate freedom in America, I won't support them.
