Not exactly a quote but:
"How can I miss you when you wont go away?"
So to make up for that,
"Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take but by the moments that take our breath away"

"Some things have to be believed, to be seen"

As one that has dealt with a chronic panic disorder and clinical depression, social anxiety, to the point of agoraphobic since age 19, THAT is one to think about.
Stigma has gotten better, but has a very, very long way to go as ignorance is rampant, the medical field is one of the worst, the government is even worse then that. Broken bones show up on x-ray, mental issues which are often a chemical reaction within the brain do not...thus the quote fits me very well.

as much as i love george carlin...
"War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse. The person who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself." -John Stuart Mill

Re: "QUOTE OF THE DAY"
George Carlin was a man with a gift of seeing things from angles to make them funny, his quote was not political in intent, it was intended for humor, and as ugly as many things are in the world as we know it, without laughter we may as well fade away. So with that thought in mind, I create my own quote:
I bet at one time George Carlin could have beaten John Stuart Mill's ass! (Or Carlin's Lawyer could have whooped Mill's Lawyers Ass..)

Oh I agree, George wasn't very politically oriented in his jokes, my reply was more or less just to have an opposing view on the subject that his comment was on. A veiw that I happen to uphold. Though Mill was infanintly more brilliant in an academic and philisophical sense, that in no way should decrease George's Legacy as one of the most brilliant commedians of his day.

Brilliance comes in many forms, so to compare the two in terms of who was more brilliant is not possible. To oppose his (Carlin's) view is only to oppose a joke. A joke or comment meant to bring laughter does not always reflect that persons opinion. I have heard many very funny jokes that are what some might see as "off color", A lack of sense of humor causes things to be taken far out of the context they were intended. Thus they are taken far too seriously. The humor seen as off color is most always FAR from my personal viewpoint, but to take it as intended is to see that there is no intent to harm. To be able to laugh at such things does not mean one believes it to be true. If such statements were all taken as truth, we'd not have gotten to enjoy George Carlin, Richard Pryor, Eddie Murphy etc. Saturday Night Live has been a prime example of what I mean for years. Even the Looney Tunes have been attacked by such people! THAT I find sad yet funny at the same time, That Evil Bugs Bunny.
That Fudd guy is down right blasphemy at it's worst I say! These people must keep forgetting to remove the cardboard from their new underwear or something, C'mon!
