Re: some of you here have or will go threw this
I don't have any children of my own (hope to someday) but i teach highschool and there are many of the students who are like my own kids. I teach at a small school and so we get to know most of the students really well and I am so proud of them when they make it through.

I did just watch my daughter walk across that stage and into a life I can't control very well for her. I worry about her and hope for her, but I know she will grow into someone I am proud of, since I as so proud this day.

I never had any kids, not that I didn't want any.. As I've already posted before, I think God thought it was a bad idea to continue my bloodline.... & maybe there is some merit to that. So best I can do is watch my brothers & sisters kids grow up.

Re: some of you here have or will go threw this
I have three daughters and I have seen the two oldest graduate high school. The youngest graduates next year.
My girls had been invovled in dancing to various degrees and played bowling also. The oldest still does bowling and she also played girls rugby in high school.
My middle girl dropped bowling when she was 16. She played soccer for two years.
My youngest bowled until she was 14 but she won three Alberta gold medals, two as a bantam and one as a junior. She went to the Canadian Youth Bowling Championships those three years as part of the Alberta bantam girls and junior girls teams.
My girls also won several gold, silver and bronze medals for dancing in ballet and jazz.
Now I have to look forward to them getting married and raising families of their own. I am not looking forward to paying for their weddings though. I can't wait to spoil my grandchildren.

Re: some of you here have or will go threw this
I went through it a year ago and will again in 3 years. It is heartbreaking. The years go by so fast. He moved into a dorm last fall. I was really missing him. However, once I realized that he was doing great, it made me realize that we must have done something right. He has got a good head on his shoulders. Now this fall he is moving back home so he can afford a car that won't break down.
Also, may I suggest a puppy - I got one 3 months before he graduated and it really did help - I suppose that sounds strange.
