Re: so exactly how many of you are redneck or countryfolk?
I drive a pickup truck, my gun cabniet is full, I have a beagle named Cace, 2 pair of cowboy boots, 2 cowboy hats, 30 baseball caps, 4 are blaze orange. I also say y'all.
Does that mean I'm a redneck? Maybe a redneck country boy.

Re: so exactly how many of you are redneck or countryfolk?
If he is like my old dog, he will come back covered with burrs, blood and black muck; jump right into the bed and roll all over my silk sheets, permanently staining them with some sort of swamp crap that not only stains, but stinks to high heavens. (and he will be forgiven just as quickly as I forgave mine)

Ever seen the Beverly Hillbillies, DEye? That's a red bone. I've had quite a few growing up. It's like the Skynyrd song says, "When the hound dogs start singin', ain't got them big ol' city blues." As of now, I have a poodle (had her since she was born, she's 14), a beagle, and a weimaraner/border collie mix. She's the one in my picture. Best dog I ever had! A hunting herder

Re: so exactly how many of you are redneck or countryfolk?
Hope for the best and plan for the worst. I've pretty much given up hope, butt your young and pretty, so it will all work out. When it comes right down to it none of it means much. Find something that makes you happy. In your case I would say working with animals might be a safe choice - Doing what you love will give you so much inner peace the rest of lifes issues will fall into their places. I find it funny how things that were really important 15 or 20 years ago mean nothing today. Thats the real chore...what do you want that will still be of value later? In the words of Doctor Spock "Live long and prosper".

DEye, there is a lot of wisdom in what you've said. I believe you're right. Some of my happiest moments, besides my children, are when I'm with my pets. I've often said that I would love to live like Grizzly Adams. That or working with the wolf reintroduction program in Yellowstone would put me at total piece. I would be in my eliment! Give me a small patch of land in the middle of nowhere, plenty of trees and wildlife and I'll be set!

Given up hope? You may have just unleashed my wrath ! If you're giving up hope now, then I should have along time ago. I should have a respectable education, but instead I got 2 x husbands, and there may be a #3. I''ve started over from scratch too many times and not for the last time I"m afraid. I've worked hard, made a good home, just to walk away with a few hefty bags of my clothes. I'm been trying to live, or survive without having the most basic of all humans need met, and I say there is hope, tons of it, there's hope out the ass !!! Count your blessings right now, I know you're a great father which means you got a couple of kids that love you and look up to you, there's one blessing, count the rest yourself. Durling the time I've known you, you've been well worth knowing.

I've had to live selfsuffienctly, way out there in the country, some chickens for eggs, picked beries and fruit when the seasons allowed, stoking up the fire instead of turning up the thermastat. My handmade quilts instead of electric blankets.... gawd ! after 8 years of it, I got so sick of being cold and hungry!!!

I got very good at it! But it was all on me, the more I did, the lazier my BF got, the more difficult it was for me to take care of both of us! I got cold too many times coming home to a dead fire, takes a while to get one started and get the place heated back up again.. anyway, it was an experience, I had great times, but, I like hot running water.
