Are those the only choices? I have a son in Anderson, SC. Another son near Atlanta,GA. I live in the north and visit the south and Hugh Heffner is my idol. Does any of that count for anything? I Guess not.

we live in a town of 2500 people.our favorite activities are fishing,fucking and shooting small animals with large caliber guns.oh don`t forget about my truck,four wheeler and jeep(also known as a red neck convertable)that count?

I live in a dot on the map with about 1000 people , in between 3 mtns,Shenandoah Valley , Va. my closest neighbor was a moonshiner. We do have 2 stoplights out on the main highway .I would say I'm a country boy , but not a redneck.

lets see about my list here... a big truck, muscle car, an old 47 on blocks, motorcycle, huntin dog out back, full gun cabinet, fishing boat, entire wardrobe of jeans and tees, town of about 100, and of course that old ragged hat that is so loved around here and i'll stop there cause its enough.

sorry i didn't think of hillbillies, i'd fit but got a nanny goat instead of mules, and blackberries don't do well this far north. I just hope you dad and brother are two seperate people?

jeans & T's -- plenty but I also have cutoffs.
town of 100 -- not anymore more like 5000000
ragged hat -- I collect ballcaps like fleas!

truck..99 durango. and an old bread truck, and a trailer bed for storage
car..3 89 Maserati TC's... and a fiat spider on blocks
cycle.. 2 Mountain bikes {bicycles}18 speed and 24 speed
no dogs
I swim in a "cement pond"
only gun is a pellet rifle.. and a 357 under the counter in my store
I only wear jeans and tees , most with Aerosmith , or AD/DC logos
no boat , but a 22ft camper
a ski resort was part of my "town" but was embarrassed by us , so got their own P O and name{ the resort is bigger than the whole "town"}
the only time I wear a hat is when cruising with the top down,in the TC
I built my own log home , totally by myself
a lady up the road knocks on doors , taking up donations to keep the street lights on

Goats, mules, it's all good ! I raised chickens myself. Now, my best definition of Hillbillies.
Hillbillies aren't the Dogpatch stereotype. They do not commit incest, and don't include opossum,crow,or coon in their regular diet. They are, however, usually strict southern Baptists, (some are even snake-handlers or feet washers)They wear shoes, and are extremely self sufficient and are very hard workers.

all my people are from arkansas, missouri, georgia and louisianna.
my cousin owned a little bar in sulfer, louisianna. johnny winter played there when he was around 17 or 18. played cajun music. ever since, he has been my favorite musician. he could play the same songs daddy played
did you know arkansas is the only state in the bible? noah looked out of the ark and saw. (first time i heard that one i laughed so hard i almost fell out of my crib)

I was going through the message boards looking for just the right one to post in since I'm new here. I came across this one, the perfect topic for me! I've been called everything from a redneck to a hippie! Cities make me queezy, I have an old pick-up in the front yard that I've been working on for too many years to count, I run a zoo in my home, I prefer a cold beer to wine, and I call everyone "y'all"..... Do I qualify?

I'm both, I travel to West Virginia often and definitaly act like and fit in with all the redneck hicks out there, yet when I am at home in Jersey or in South Carolina, I guess I could be consider a beach bum in the summer and a ski bum in the winter.
