The happiest year of your life, how old were you?
The happiest year of my life was when I was 25, graduated from college and tpipping around Europe. Single, studly, oozing testosterone and getting lucky with women who spoke little English.
The second happiest year of my life is a tie.... every year since.

Re: The happiest year of your life, how old were you?
every year is just a little better than the preceding year. Probably had the most fun in my first year of college. I was 17, free from worries (parents), had seen more of the world than most others ever will see and was ready to learn all about sex!

Wow, you must have graduated high school when you were 8. I didn't have sex everyday until I was 20.

Re: The happiest year of your life, how old were you?
actually, it was several years, when I was completely happy. I thought I had found it, I was sure, certain, that I had stumble on to something true and good..., Everything made sense to me then, every mistake, every decision I had ever made, good or bad, every tiny little piece of my history, every little shard of my past , suddenely began to make perfect sense, like it all converged at an exact time and put me in that place, with that man. Everything made such perfect sense, everything assured me I was exactly where I was suppose to be. Hearing him laugh outloud when he watched "The Three Stooges" , the way , when I would mend his jeans and hand them back folded, he would run his fingers across that spot, taking just that extra few seconds to notice the work I had done and give me an eye to eye thank you, the way his face would light up when old friends of his came around knowing that now they would envy him, instead of the other way around as it always been before. A million things like that assured me I was exactly where I should be.
I don't know what happened, I do remember telling him so many times , that we both see it all slipping away from us, and please help me hold onto it. but it happened, I try not to look back and want to be there, where I was before. I'm going to try to believe that it was real, I was exactly where I was suppose to be at that time, and it's just more pieces and shards of my history that I need, so someday I can be where I am suppose to be.

You touched a soft spot here Chazzy. After this last divorce I have finally found a new peace with in myself. With 31 acres of woods, a comfortable financal position and a marriage that I at first thought was the last one for me, I thought this is IT! As the years went by everything seemed to change, we grew apart, she became increasingly critical of EVERTHING I did or didn't do and many marriage counciling sessions that got nowhere, I left it all behind, wondering if I would ever be happy again. I know now my happiness can't be based on the things or toys I have, that can all go away with the stroke of a pen, and it can't be dependant on another person. There is a new peace now. Happiest time of my life? It may be now if I can let it.
Reading your post reminded me of a song I wrote a while back mostly about my parents and all the little pieces of my life that come together to make a total picture but the hook goes "the pieces of the puzzle that make the picture whole, the pieces of the puzzle to my soul". It is like a puzzle, I guess when the last piece goes in I'll be on my way out of here.

After reading these two posts, I have to wonder... I dont really think......can only hope , the happiest day hasn't arrived yet. I will certainly be thrilled when it does. There have been good times , but I can't really say great times.,other than a few days here , and there. still looking for the future mrs wonderful to spend the rest of my life with.if the best has already happened , then I'm in trouble.

Re: The happiest year of your life, how old were you?
I feel a real difference in myself today, because I can let go of that part of my past, I applied dam good heaping piles logic and reason to it, but I still could'nt quite let go. I still felt so angry at him because we had the best thing on this earth going on, and I blamed him for fucking it up, for not helping me hang on to it, sometime in the this early morning, I realized it was just as much out of his control, as it was mine. Kinda like a million years ago, the first domino fell, and no matter what we do or want, they are gonna keep falling, or a kaotic mathmatical thing, as soon as the sperm hit that nucleus, the first cell started to form and divide, and a chain reaction began, the dominos start falling. It's been a better day today, because very early this morning, a few things began to make sense.

Re: The happiest year of your life, how old were you?
I meant to get to this days ago, Hardrock, Sunbuff, it means allot when someone else seems to understand my long winded attempts to try to explain something, or even can derive their own meaning from it. It makes the present time more tolerable when I can bury a piece of past, and live knowning no matter what, there is something ahead to look forward to.

Re: The happiest year of your life, how old were you?
i have to say the happiest years have been since rhyun and i have been together. but the absloute happiest moment was when i finally got to hold our lil red for the first time. (she was in nicu, so i couldn't see her for almost 24 hours) it was that exact moment that our family became whole, and i realized that i had found happiness.
(pardon me while i go and cry now)

that's really a tough question to answer. life has its ups & downs throughout. i would have to say that all my childhood was pretty wonderful & magical. when i was a cheerleader was pretty special too. reuniting with the love of my life last year after 28 years would have to be it for me.

I was 19, in my Air Force dress blues, in Colo. Springs, Air Force Academy, and my dad was pinning on my first set of wings on my chest. Considering what a mess I was when I got to boot camp, & what I had just acomplished, I was proud of myself, but the look on my dad's face seeing the change I had made, priceless. Not sure who was prouder, him or me.
