As Seen On T.V. !
Anyone ever buy an item from a TV ad or infomercial and were left feeling pleased with your purchase or ripped off? Give us your "product review". Are there ones you are tempted to order something from but they just make it sound way too good to be true?
My mother recently bought my father one of those hair clipper/trimmers, the ones that you just set the length and comb through your hair. As soon as my father gave himself his first haircut with it, they were so thrilled with it they ordered a second immediatly, so they would always have a back up if something broke on the first one!

Re: As Seen On T.V. !
many, many years ago my dad bought a "Pocket Fisherman". This thing had storage for some lures, and the shaft part, it was only about 8"-10" long, folded up into the handle. Used it alot. I think it's still laying around dad's place somewhere.

Re: As Seen On T.V. !
I remember those...there was a bunch of handy gadgets sold by that same company that made the pocketfisherman...Popiel or something like that!
I just got an order delivered yesterday, tried it out today, it's the "zero pet odor" stuff, the shit is fantastic! Since we took in Schnagsy, the stray 3 legged cat, and he was an outdoor cat, he had a little "problem" adapting to indoor life and wanting to mark his territory, (he's over that now, he catches on real quick!) and this stuff eliminated any lingering odor left after all my thorough cleaning up. Works like a dream on any odors.

Yes it was, his name is Ron Popeel. He's still doing infomercials, and coming up those gagets.

I have a friend who has one. I'll ask her about it and let you know
Chazzy, there's a segment on our local news station.... "Deal or Dud." Very informative about the products they sell on t.v. Can't really remember which ones they've done but I'll get back to this topic when I do

Re: As Seen On T.V. !
Thanks Moon, I would appreciate that. The ads always sound just too amazing, too easy, too good to be true, but apparently some do stand up to their claims, while others fall way short, some even the focus of class action and consumer fraud law suits. Actuall knowing which ones are which, would be great!

He's the owner of RONCO...If you do a web-search on it, you'll find a lot of weird items that you might recognize...

Re: As Seen On T.V. !
I didn't buy it, but I found it going through my grandmother's stuff. It's call a PRIMA Stirer. It runs by two AA batteries. The stalk is no bigger than a fist. It has a rod protruding that splits like the tongue of a snake. You turn it on, and it stirs everything like a cylone. I use it everyday on my coffee. Stirs the sugar right off the bottom and disovles it into the hot coffee. I'll never use a spoon again. I love this stupid little thing...

I would like to know if it works...... Very curious ... Listen NYK, when I was in my 20's-30's I never worried about it, my work & activities kept me in pretty good shape. But now.... Oh God I hate to say this, I have to make a special effort to keep my six-pack. I can tell you for real, the ab-lounge doesn't make your situps any more effective, but it makes them more comfortable, as in sore back & butt. Thus it does make you more willing to do them

Re: As Seen On T.V. !
I'm not a real believer in TV marketing, but... the one thing I bought that was easily worth it, was "THE MIRACLE BLADE" Everything chef Tony says about them is actually true. Those are the sharpest damn blades I've ever had without spending a lot of time with a "Steel" I love to cook, but one of my biggest pet peeves is a dull knife & trying to cut something & can't

Re: As Seen On T.V. !
I do remember that they tested that "urine gone" stuff last week. You're only supposed to be able to order it on t.v. but they found it in the store. Thing is, it wasn't the same stuff. The lable looked identical except a few of the graphics were different. Come to find out, the guy that was partners with the woman that invented the formula copied it and sold it as his own in stores. It didn't work! They interviewed the woman and she said that she's the only one that knows ALL of the ingredients and the guy left one out that makes the difference. They didn't try her stuff but the stuff in the stores isn't worth it!
They tested some "wrinkle reducing" drink last night that some guy said will reduce fine lines and wrinkles if you drink two a day for 28 days. It was a dud....... His explanation.... "wrinkles occur all over the body, not just the face."

Re: As Seen On T.V. !
Stopsign anti-virus advertises allot on TV in my region, and they are such a scam!!
It's one of those sites that offer you a free virus scan, then come back with a report about all these viruses and spyware trojans that they've found.
The scan and the report is free, but to clean all these viruses off your computer you have to buy their software.
Here's the scam, the viruses that show up on their scan are fake and made up, they don't exist! This is their way of convincing you that they can find viruses that other scans and software cannot, and you need to buy theirsoftware !

I saw how these guys work too, they sent me a e-mail saying I was under investigation for believe it or not... being on a site such as this, because of the pornografic words such as pussy, cumshot.. well you get the idea. Anyway for the low, low price of $100.00 they could take care of it. Bull_ _ _ t. Spybot. com took care of it for free!!

Some day just maybe it will worth something. I haven't been fishing for so long, I don't even think I can remember how to drown a minnow.

Re: As Seen On T.V. !
Okay...I've done a little internet research, but would rather have some of your opinions from anyone that's tried and used the "space bags"....my 100 year old house has some serious storage issues and I'm not so sure I want to invest in these storage systems.

Re: As Seen On T.V. !
I've used them to pack away my winter clothes & my hunting clothes. I'm actually satisfied with them. They do work, they flatten stuff out so u have room for more stuff.

The reviews I read on the internet were for the space bags for packing and traveling, you roll them up to squeeze out the air and the reviews on those kind weren't too good...about 50/50...but I was interested in the ones you use a vacuum on...is that the kind you used?

I know a few friends of mine that use the vacumm sealed bags, and they love them. They say it helps with storage compactability.

Re: As Seen On T.V. !
I'm gonna give them a try, the ones that got the bad reviews were the traveling ones you manually roll the air out of ....one review was kinda funny though, these people bought a bunch of them, and store a whole bunch of stuff in a closet, and the bags started taking on air and they had to like...take apart their closet shelves and go through all kinds of hell to get the stuff back out once the bags re-inflated!
