Reality or Virtuality?
You know what they say about some people? There are realists (if that's the appropriate term for something like that??) and daydreamers.
Which one are you? Do you think about things that actually happens, know whats capable to happen or not? Or are you one to daydream thinking many ways things could happen, and how it would go?
Kinda goes with all this stuff on WebNaughty (well, not just on WN, but any place else as well). When is it to be too much? Do you turn to the computer because you like living in the virtual world because it could go the way you wanted? Or do you limit yourself? This sort of question could go all sorts of ways.. tell us what you think about stuff like this.. what's good and bad about it? How much is too much, what's too little? How do you know right from wrong, etc?
Go ahead, tell us.. say what you want and what have you!

Re: Reality or Virtuality?
Actually, I think you forgot one. ME, I'm just part schizophrenic, but not a paranoid schizo. And I can tell your jealous because the voices talk to me.
OK now, I'm actually a realist, also known as a "thinker". Our societity has 4 different types of work groups, that realy can define the type of person you are.
1) Relator (supporter) 2)Socializer (inspirer)
Identitifers

OK now, I'm actually a realist, also known as a "thinker". Our societity has 4 different types of work styles, that realy can define the type of person you are.
1) Relator (supporter) identitifers
Friendly
Slow and Easy
Shares Feelings
Compliant
2)Socializer (inspirer)
identifers
Relationships are important, as are strong feelings of personal worth.
Fast Paced
Humeroous and Spontaneous
3) Thinker (observer)
identifers
Efficient and a Perfectionist.
Slow and Cautious
Works well alone
4) Director
identifers
No concern for relationships.
An emphasis on results.
Fast pace and decisive
There are more identifers for each type with communication tips and a test that will tell you where you fall within the different types. Now you are not just one type. You can have more or less of the different types in your work style. Such as when you score on the test and place the value on the chart, it may fall close to more than one type.
Now the answer to why this post is so goofy. I hit the wrong damn button.
Hopefully this thing posts with no bugs.

Re: Reality or Virtuality?
A honest person in "real life" is an honest person online, if you're two different people depending on what "world" you're in, then it's anyones guess why...shy, inhibited,etc...
When I'm online, it's just not here, in this one place. I'm all over the net and how I speak, what language I use depends on the place I visit, but what I am actually saying is the same.
I'm the same person everywhere, online or off, I don't use bad language or discuss topics in the prescence of those that I'm sure may be offended by it, but enjoy that company as well as I do when I'm in an "no holds barred" enviroment with people who rip the lid off and expect the shit to fly.

Re: Reality or Virtuality?
I'm the same person here as I am anywhere else. I tend to deal in facts rather dreams most of the time. If I use flp's chart I'm a little bit of everything. But, no matter what else goes on in the world you can be guaranteed that if you ask for my opinion you'll get it. It may not be what you want to hear but, it will be the truth.

Exactly why I like to have people on and offline I know I can ask for the brutal truth! Even a few that don't like me or hate me, at least I know they won't tell me what I want to hear, they'll tell me all I need to know!!!

Re: Reality or Virtuality?
Reality or virtuality? Hmmmm.
I believe that we create the world in which we live.
Every day by the decisions we make and the actions we take.
And there is a part in all of us, that is based on reality, whatever the hell that is, and a part based on virtuality.
and often the distinction isn't so clear. a gray line separating the two.
to be truly healthy, we need a mix of the two.
Fantasies can be very strong motivators. (good for WN too, )
i think i'll ponder this some more.

Re: Reality or Virtuality?
I think, maybe that fantasy and reality play equally important roles for us in "real world" and the "cyberworld"?

I consider myself a decent person, dont mean any harm in any way shape or form, and am honest about everything (sometimes I think a little too much honesty.. or at least say a little more than I should, in which sometimes may or may not get me in trouble in any case which is an issue I try working on, slow work-in-progress). Much as I may hate to say it, may sometime consider myself more of the daydreamer and might be the reason why I can't get myself focused on things I try to accomplish because I expect it to come easy for me in which it doesn't. Like school for instance, is a big thing, I have to put a little more work into it to get an A if at all possible unlike some of my brothers.. they don't have to do much and know it all already.

Yep and it is a "thick grey line" too. If we are honest I believe that we are almost equal parts of fantasy and reality. That is what keeps us "sane" (whatever that really means). What is and what could have been....hmmmm....

Re: Reality or Virtuality?
Without dreams and fantasies we can't make plans. The dreams are our way of imagining what the future could be. And, yes, it's what keeps of "sane"

Re: Reality or Virtuality?
Hey, we wouldn't have computers, internet, electricity, etc..(and you know the list goes on and on!)if if weren't for allot of imaginative dreaming.
