Re: Oddly Enough
TMJ stands for temporomandibular joint...see why it's abbreviated? It's the jaw joint and it's the cause of extreme pain for some who have it disjointed from trauma, temporary damage from long periods of time having dental work done, and you can develop arthitis in this joint.

Re: Oddly Enough
OK, so we went from pennies and nickles that cost more to make than their face value. To wisdom teeth and the potential problems with having them pulled. mmmm
Interesting. when I had my wisdon my teeth pulled, there were no complications. Everything came out just fine. this was longer ago than I can actually remember. Guess removing them does have some affect.

Re: Oddly Enough
I'm a pure hillbilly girl living in the rural Midwest, and around here, no body gets anything done without first consulting the Farmer's Almanac!
Whatever you need done, the sign in the almanac must be the opposite, so when folks here need dental work, they wait till the sign is in the feet, and if they need their feet worked on the sign must be in the head...goes for everything, cutting hair, etc...whatever they do, they make sure the sigin is as opposite as possible.

Hey did you know........
Monkeys fling feces at eachother when agitated
Yawns are a way of communication. They don't signal that you are tired, but rather you want to do something different now.
We know more about the surface of the moon than we do about the bottom of then ocean
There are as many chickens on this planet as humans
You have enough micro-organisms in your mouth to equal a cockroach
A sneeze leaves your mouth a 100 miles per hour
If ribbon worms can't find any food, they will eat themselves.
Americans choke on toothpicks more that anything else.
Sherlock Holmes never said "Elementary, my dear Watson."
You can't sneeze with your eyes open.
Most Americans' car horns beep in the Key of "F".

What about the "bottom" of the "moon?"
Scientists are talking about training bees and wasps to sniff out explosives. They have the greatest sense of smell.

Re: Oddly Enough
I had to dig this topic out of the rubble.....
I was listening to a history lesson on a school radio program yesterday and found out some very interesting history.
Why "June weddings" are so popular
They said that back in the middle ages, people bathed in rivers and streams. It was too cold to bathe in the winter time so the brides would bathe in late May. By the time their wedding rolled around in June they were still smelling somewhat decent. They carried a bouquet of flowers to mask any unappealing scents.
Why an "X" is synonymous with a "kiss."
Back in the middle ages, most people couldn't read or write. When signing a document, they would simply put an "X." To seal the deal, so to speak, they would kiss the "X" in front of the person having them sign the document.
I thought these things were pretty interesting

That is a hoot Moon...back when my friends and I were getting married the flowers masked the smell of the alcohol from a really bad night the night before...
