Curiostiy and trust
Does anyone here check out the history of your spouses's computer use on a shared computer? Do you ever "poke around" in someone else's computer at all, whether it be a matter of sincere concern, a reason you have to mistrust, or just simple human curiosity?
Do you use a clean up software or have a clean up routine just for the sole reason to cover your own tracks from a spouse when you've been online?

Re: Curiostiy and trust
I poke around on my kids accounts to make sure they are behaving and are safe. However, I do not snoop on hubby.

Re: Curiostiy and trust
Do any of you ever cover your online tracks because you visited sites that you just want to keep private?
If your hardrive were to be confiscated, do you feel that some things could be found on it that would give anyone serousily a bad or mistaken impression, would make you "suspect", when you know your activites are common and innocent?

Re: Curiostiy and trust
My home is just that, my home. I do and visit web sites that I want to. There is nobody that can tell me different. On the work computer, that's a different story. In fact they have cut us off the internet. Way to many were abusing it and causing some serious problems.

Re: Curiostiy and trust
Ah! Work computers! You've brought another good point!
How much "spying" is acceptable by an employer?
Some sites, do have pop ups, and a person can be directed to some sites with a "sneaky search keyword scam".
Do you ever wonder how much "unintentional" data ends up as a permanant part of a hard drive? How much of that is really purged or deleted by clean up software?

I heard about a guy on the news the other night that got fired from his job for logging on to the internet

Re: Curiostiy and trust
Yep....I've seen allot of news stories, where during a raid or search, the computer(s) are siezed...and information on the hard drives are made public, even though they don't really don't seem relevant to the case at all.

There was a court case that was just completed, I believe it was out east some where, I'll try to check. However he/she was reinstated to his/her job as they considered the computer/internet to be the modern equivalent of the telephone.

Re: Curiostiy and trust
Yeah, we have some local stories popping up sometimes, and if someone is "suspected" of something like...maybe...selling stolen property on ebay...I don't think I need to know he visited bisexual sites, or had legal bi or gay content on his computer.
