There are saftey guidlines for BDSM playtime. (Dammit, I had 'em posted here, I lost 'em but I'll get 'em reposted ASAP) You got the right idea of agreeing on things before starting any BDSM play with anyone, even a spouse! One of the most important is the "safe word", any word, agreed upon before "playtime" that is understood by all involved to mean "stop play immediatly" when ever it's spoken.
