What do you read?
We've been expanding our horizons in the forums lately, with a lot of good topics and after talking with BN this morning, I thought I'd just ask....
What do you read? No really for work, but if you read for fun. Sci-fi, Fantasy, Popular Fiction, all of the above, none of the above?
And yes, the articles in "Playboy" do count, because they can cover real subjects too.
I'll answer later, right now, I'm headed out to...guess where? The Library!

Steven King (on #5 of the Dark Tower series) Sidny Sheldon, John Grisham, Dan Brown. And if I find something that looks interesting I'll read that too. Of course I read many, many gardening books and magazines too!

Re: What do you read?
Well, for me it varies, I like Stephen King, Have read all of the Richard Bachman books, Dan Brown Dean Koontz (Love the Prodigal son series, so far), Clive Cussler, Mercedes Lackey, L. Sprague DeCamp, Janet Eanovich (not the Plum Series, the other one with Charlotte something), and Paranormal romances (lol), for instance, Sherrilyn Kenyon and J.R. Ward (Vampires), Susan Krinard (werewolves), Historical romances (esp w/ a Highlander) , last but not least, anything about ancient times (Roman Empire, Medieval, etc)
and anything else that catches my interest...
I have a closet that is my library, 5 shelves and the floor...not to mention the ones in our room and on top of the entertainment center...

Re: What do you read?
Truth is I only get the chance to read in the sub on my way to work every morning, so that's not a lot. My favs are Koontz, Paulo Coehlo and Gabriel Garcia Marquez.
I have a question though... I see you guys read Steven King a lot... don't you find his extremely long sentences and all these details a bit destracting? I mean.. sure the plots are great, but so much detail... kinda removes the anxiety imo...

Re: What do you read?
I guess some of his fans enjoy the specifics ... they may not use their own imaganation enough to really set the scene... but I agree ... and if He was all I could choose from , It would get tedious very fast...!!!

Re: What do you read?
At times, I'll get magazines like Child, Krafts Food and Family, or Cosmo... other than that, not much unless I'm at my parents house and somehow the newspaper always ends up in front of me. Like to read when Im eating if i'm not really in the mood to talk. Otherwise for books the last one I read was "He's just not that into you".

youe right all of the details are distracting, but he does make up for it with a really good plot. It's just his style. I accept it as a given when I do read his books.

Finally! Some people who know who the hell Dean Koontz is!! He's much better than King, in my opinion. Read almost all of his books.

Hit the wrong button again. See even pics don't help me. I don't read much, it puts me to sleep.
Webnaughty, criminal profiling cases, and some shit from work. I would rather watch a documentry on the tube than read it. Now if it was on the tube, it would be history, surgery, even have to sit in these at times, nature, now I'm brain dead.
