Home and Hearth....
Did ya ever think you knew someone pretty well till you saw their home, and then realize they have these facets to their personality that you weren't aware of?
What kind of taste in decor do you have? Shabby chic, modern and minimal, rustic country, period victorian, or do you surround yourself with dustcatchers, clutter and collections of everything you love and anything that has meaning for you? Pack rat or neat snob? Are you one half of a couple with complete opposite design preferences that have to be dealt with?

Re: Home and Hearth....
Let me start off by saying that I love wolves... I love nature... I love this earth! Most of you already know that.. so you're probably thinkin', "she's probably got wolves EVERYWHERE!" Nope! I've got angels... I've got family pictures on the walls... I've got scented candles everywhere (can't burn 'em, though.. gives me a headache)... I've got pictures that my kids drew hangin' all over the fridge....
I better stop there... I'm gonna get depressed.. I'm so out of style lol
I do have LOTS of wolf things, though... just no room for 'em.

I love wolves, and more wolves. Have several paintings of wolves by artist like, Carl Brenders & Kim Norland. I have no flowers. Southwest and Indian. But furniture is miss mash, and very cluttered, small house.

Re: Home and Hearth....
This is another good topic. But, so hard for me to answer. I am very organized at work/school/etc. However, I have a very difficult time organizing my home for some reason. I love antiques and have some very nice pieces that have been passed down through the family. I love color and am not afraid to use it. I really mix & match and tend not to buy new decor - have had the same things for many years, but I am happy with them (and most are from garage sales, gifts, or handmade).

Re: Home and Hearth....
ive got this hutch type thing thats lil over half full of these bunnies thing that my mom got for me way back when.. (sooner or later they'll be somewhere in the spendy side of the money zone).
Also got a lot of things with palm trees.. got 3 big pictures in my bedroom of the beach/palm trees and that's the theme in my bathroom as well. (Although I did get some harley davidson bath towels... how would i happen to blend that in with palm trees?!)
I do have a little theme around in my bedroom with harley davidsons as well.. that theme is suppose to be for my 'computer room' but its sort of clashing in with my bedroom being my computer is in my room so it's kinda hard to focus on one theme in here.
My son's room has this jungle type theme clashing with some bear stuff (i'm working on it... slowly... to get it to be one theme).

Re: Home and Hearth....
Unfortunately, My house was under construction, when the contractor left, and stole all our money.....
Soooooo, my house is half Sheetrock (of course its not taped and the only mud on it was from my kids), half cinder block, and some sub floors.....
I will have to get back to this one in about ten years to let you know what it looks like finished....

Re: Home and Hearth....
i live west metro area of Miami, "in the woods with the bugs"...have a Mountain lodge theme furniture style in the living room. big wood furniture...with leather sofa..(no straps) ...very quaint for the neighborhood..the neighbors really like the lodge theme look in Florida...
downsized when moved to Miami from a 5BDR with basement to a 2BDR (no basement in FL for obvious reasons)...so i have very limited storage space anymore...thus, i am very organized..but keep only what i really have to and donate regularly to Goodwill and the Salvation Army just to keep from getting any clutter.

Sometimes(alotoftimes)I wish I could boot the other half out and let some one from Missouri move in and re-design everything and leave her sensual sexuality all over the place especially on me

Re: Home and Hearth....
I have bold taste, my kitchen and dining room are barn red with distressed white furniture. My living room walls are loden (dark olive green) and my furnishings are overstuffed chairs and sofa with lots of pillows in a middle eastern type of tapestry that includes a bit of red to pick up the colors from the other room, one of the chairs has a mixture of different materials for an eclectic feel, and the coffee tables and entertainment center are cherrywood. I have rich, dark wood floors throughout the house. The kids bathroom is a mango/burnt orange (of course...hook 'em horns) with white beadboard to the top of the shower tiles, I just had one of those bathroom cabinets installed that looks like a chest of drawers. My daughter's room is a mix of mint green and cotton candy pink that almost makes your teeth hurt, her room is shabby chic meets Ralph Lauren. My little one's room is wedgewood blue and the furniture is barn red, his room has airplanes hanging from the ceiling mixed with miscellaneous sports items scattered around the room. My bedroom is in the process of undergoing a bit of a renovation so who knows what is in store for in there, I'm leaning to steal blue and taupe...
Can you all tell I love to decorate...and yes, I subscribe to Southern Living, House and Beautiful, Better Homes and Gardens...LOL

Yea with fine bone china, silver flatware, lead crystal stemware, and the fine silk linen. I thought that would be more too your style.
