The " three's company syndrome"
O.K. Lately I have been considering the differences in online communication, and "real time" conversation, and I have weighed the advantages and disadvantages a bit, such as the ability, online, to consider your words at length. Definatly an advantage, however in a face to face conversation we are taking in so much more in the form of body language, tone of voice, expressions, gestures and so forth...On here, all you have is the written word, and some emoticons( I have also come to realise how much I have begun to rely on them to express the mood, and emotion of a statement) That, of course, is exactly what the are supposed to do, and they do it well. My question is, though....given the potential for misinterpretation...How many of you have ever grossly misinterpreted something someone said?, How ridiculous was it? Did you resolve it? Did you feel like a Jackass?...And have you ever been grossly misinterpreted? If you have, set the record straight now to whoever it was...and we can laugh about it, don't worry, MR. Roper isn't listening through the heater vent!....

Re: The " three's company syndrome"
I'm sure I have been misinterpreted a few times. and have misinterpreted others as well. But nothing serious that I know of. I hope that the person would ask , instead of letting it slide and be pissed about it. I believe most here realise , this is all fun and games, and would assume , nothing bad was meant , by the unfortunate misunderstanding. The smileys do help a lot , in showing what your meaning really is . I'm sure some could be taken differently without them. So hey , if I have offended anyone , please let me know , I certainly didnt mean anything bad Rick

Only happened once to me. I called Jill my ex-wifes name while we were making love. She totally misinterpreted what I said.
