So, is it just me?
Do you find that you actually have a "single" self and a "relationship" self? I definately lean towards the self destuctive side much more when single, I seem to have less fear about what my future holds, as my choices don't actually affect any person in such a direct fashion as when in a relationship...when in a relationship I seem to fall toward a more protective, long viewing, kinda' mode, more conservative? I guess?...anyway do you behave different in and out of a serious relationship? And if you do, how so?

Re: So, is it just me?
pretty much exactly how you described it. plus when alone I'm more lazy and procrastinating in general. never over half tank of gas.. send payment for bills on the last possible day.. guess you can say a partner induces the responsibility in me, where I myself don't.
shit does that mean I'm a bad influence on myself?

Re: So, is it just me?
Not only am I a woman, I'm also mother, and I have learned what it means to be unconditionally loved as well as love someone in that way...I have also learned that it's possible to love more than one....Within the same depth......
I am naturally a giver...... When I was single I gave anything I could.....As I do now, married with children...The only difference is now, my blood pressure rises everyday due to the amount of responsibility I have!!....
I, however do not change personality wise per say, but I do accommodate to the situation as needed....

Hell, I do that!.......All of it!.....You are who you are!......People just make you mask it by trying to change you!.....But you will always go back to who you are in the end!....

Re: So, is it just me?
Well, when I was single, I did what I wanted, when I wanted...no matter how stupid or crazy it might have been. When I was with someone, I gave them 100% of my devotion. Once I had children, I become more responsible because they depended on me. Whether I was single or not. Kids have a way of making a person "grow up". Now that I am married, I take on our responsiblities and I have found myself the one to handle any crisis that comes up with my immediate family members. I found that you do what you have to do...no matter what.

Re: So, is it just me?
I have not been in a lot of relationships but i have noticed I'll do more when there's someone around.. as in keeping the house tidied up and organized as i just feel weird having the guy see me be unorganized. But when it's just me which it has been for the most part of my life, only now including my son, I kinda slack off here and there.. and I've done things myself for a lot of time and can handle going to some places alone and doing some things alone(although my friends are all opposite of me which they HAVE to have someone else go with them even if its some place like a grocery store or some other place just to get one thing because its like theyre scared to be seen 'alone' if you wanna call it that). I'm one of those last minute people... few minutes late people... (and the list goes on...) but will give you the shirt off my back if it came down to it and would find a way to help anyone out. (The helping anyone out would be being single or being in a relationship... goes either way)

I thoroughly enjoy a little risk taking, hard fast living and spontaneity, and sadly, it's rare to find someone who has the personality to want all that and a serious relationship too, but I have had the joy of knowing a few of these rare individuals...but currently, I find myself missing that part of me, and life....I miss all the "Hey, wanna?" "Why not?" and "What the fuck! Let's go!!"

Re: So, is it just me?
I would say for me yes. Single I am more daring, self destructive, a little uncaring but in a realtionship I am the opposite. Well except the one I am in now my single self and relationship self are having a battle I want to get crazy and wreckless which is why I am here but I know I can't and shouldn't.
