Internet Hook ups
what's your views on meeting someone online. not just a one nighter but as in finding "the one".
what if he/she were far enough away to measure the distance in days drive instead of miles?
would you make the trip for just the chance of it working out as well face to face? especially if you weren't even looking for a S.O.?
how much do you give up (or ask to be given up) if it did work out?
and lastly, coming from someone who's always kept everyone at arms length.. is it worth it even if only lasting for a little while?

Re: Internet Hook ups
If it's the one you would know it. I've had a long distance relationship once and was willing to give everything up for her. but it didn't work out that way. so yeah i would take the chance and go to meet someone if i thought she was the one...

There was a song writen something like: "There aint no mountain High enough, Aint no river wide enough to keep my love from you". But you will never find out sitting in front of your computor. How many times have you just got on your bike or in your truck and driven around most of the day never really doing anything or going anywhere important? I know I have! There have been great historic people, that have traveled around the world just for Spices,Tea,Gold, and fame, and they were still unhappy, because they never found love. So what are you waitting for? as the Cable guy says: "Get er Done"!! Someone also said "It is better to have love and lost, Then to have never loved at all". And I say "Keep on doing it over and over till you get it right". For one thing its fun,and who knows You may find the love of your life, as far as giving anything up, that will come from both of your hearts in due time.

See no reason it can't work, I have several friends who are with internet hookup lovers. I am old fashioned and prefer the actual in person experience. Besides, I gave you a your shot bcb.

Re: Internet Hook ups
ya' know, as much as I keep people at arms length, as well, I 'm still a sucker for takin' risks...I'll meet anyone, worry about the consequences later, figuring...nothing ventured...nothing gained, know what I mean? And I am not looking for anything, really, I am dating, but I would rather stay alone then just asign any 'ol one to the "S.O". position, I never really minded being alone. secondly...How much do you give up?...Usually, if your me, pretty much everything if you got that "feeling"(rare, these days, though!) otherwise, I personally would'nt go, ya' know, crazy...Unless I was in love...haha, then I would'nt have a choice, I'd already be crazy...too late! lastly...even if it only lasts a little while?...well life only lasts a little while...nothing is forever.

That was very well put!.....
I would have to agree with all of that!....I also have learned to appreciate the little things in life....and not sweat the small stuff!.....And I am a true believer in "It's better to have loved and lost, than to have never loved before!".....Most of life lessons are learned through experience, which in the end comes from wisdom!.....There is nothing better, than to learn from your mistakes, One exception to the rule, listen to what others say, and learn from their mistakes!......
I say, Take the chance!....

Take the chance... Nothing is better than having alittle exictment in your life. You will never know what the outcome is... Unless you try.. We live and learn from our mistakes. Things always turn out for the better...

Re: Internet Hook ups
We can answer that in one word... ABSOLUTELY!!!
We met online! And we couldn't be happier! It's funny...I drove 2.5 hours to meet him! It was so worth the drive! I knew before I even met him that he was "the one"...it's a strange overwhelming feeling. There really is no way to truly describe it. We chatted, emailed, talked on the phone for weeks (but seemed like forever). We still have all our emails. We have been together for several years now. And the feelings are still overpowering at times. You will know...and there must be something there to make you ask this question.
Feeling a little crazy? Asking yourself, what am I doing? Feel like you are in high school at times? If you have been asking yourself any of these questions...GO MEET HER!!!!
Jack and I never believed in "soulmates"...until we met each other.
Good luck to you!
Jill and Jack too! (minus the kiss of course!

Re: Internet Hook ups
hook ups from the net isnt too much of a bad thing... probably have more friends on the net than face to face. I'm one of them types that will give anything a chance to see where it takes me and if you're up to the chance to actually do it-then go for it! Better to find out and see where it takes you rather than thinking what if this, what if that's. Better to have tried than not to have tried.
Good luck to ya bcb in whatever you choose to do!

Yes, it would be...but I would have driven across the country to meet him, the "connection" was there. It was one of those things that I felt I had to do...that I needed to do. Sometimes, you just have to take that chance. 2.5 days could be the start of the rest of your life with someone very special. Only you can determine if she is worth it. But, it looks as though the rest of us are pushing you towards that drive...
