I kind of think it's the norm. I guess men were just built that way.  I and many others want more. Age is the same . A lot of women draw the line at a certain age ,you are as old as you feel , not look. you are as sexy as you feel, not look. If you can get past that , it opens a whole new world, of posibilities. The mind can be much more sexy than the body.I may be 50 , but feel and act more like 30.

with the body-you get instant gratification. to get satisfaction with the mind of a female or even a male takes too long. I believe we have become a society that wants the satisfaction/gratification this instant.
for example....check the divorce rate...get into argument...get a divorce

Wow! you took the words right outta' my mouth!....except I was going to say, maybe, months?...years?...attraction first occurs on a visual level...true understanding and love for someones personality, requires that you ever bothered to get to know them in the first place. I have talked to the bumbs on the street and have had friends with some of them. Regardless of what they look like,. If someone ask me a ? > I answer them that is my nature....if people only new that the crazy people on the street where just people who where too lonly to take live any more then.....I dont know maybe I am just talking off the top of my head agen just thought I would say something to that comment.

That's easy.., I worked for a few years at a homeless shelter (in Reno) and the stereotype doesn't work...Many are smart and have great intellegence but unfortuneately, we view them according to their appearance. I guess the same is true of women. We only want the body and forget the mind...However, this is the exception and NOT the norm...Not everyone is this way....Too Deep??

You are right. We do the same thing. And there is no way to deny it. Appearance is the first thing that anyone notices...male or female. It's getting past one's appearence and getting to know them that truly counts!
Looks definately are not everything...as the saying goes, "Looks can be deceiving!"

WOW! see, now this is getting somewhere...I actually will talk to anyone, as well,(provided they are not ignorant) and have the time, of course, but...far more will not than will...cheers to you if you don't judge on appearances to that harsh of a degree. my analogy is not exactly a direct cross-reference, though, just to make the point that attraction MUST occur, first, in a visual world, where constant stimuli comes in flooding over your peepers, on a visual level...it is from that, where we decide to proceed, or avoid establishing a repoire with that person. ( the one exception that immediatly comes to mind would be the internet, where you can get in quite deeply with someone without any visual cues at all, but, upon meeting them PHYSICAL attraction is not a guarantee.)But, have you ever met someone at, say, a job, or somewhere you were at on a routine basis...and though you may not have found them attractive at first...maybe even just didn't really form an opinion at all, right away...then later ended up attracted to them, or even seeing them? loving them?...Thats where brains and personality finds its victory, and it is sweet!

And in regard to k-1's statement that many homeless are above average intelligence, ABSOLUTELY!...there is, after all a VERY fine line between genius and madness...walk such a fine line, in your life, and it is very easy to fall down...or out...or down and out!

Thanks DM.....But let's get crude....Many guys won't even consider the mind until they've seen the body. I have a friend who had a fiance who was (excuse me profusely) god aweful ugly...but, after listening to her for 10 minutes, I understood why he loved her....They are still married and she hasn't gotten prettier. mean I know...but, you asked.

Im gonna stick with the shallowness in me, when I was twenty, I didnt care what kind of Body or mind they had IT was all about fun and being together, But now that Im in my 50's I kinda still like, the 3,4,5,or6 size Daisy Dukes, bikini's high heels,and a big smile, as far as being smart, thats cool, but if not, just make me laugh once in a while, the rest we will work out together, I have found that most people that are not real intelligent are more forgiving and more fun to be with, so I guess I have not changed much in 50 years.
