Rudolph
In watching tv Christmas night, they aired the original Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer. In doing this, they mentioned that the idea for Rudolph was actually from Montgomery Ward. They wanted something for thier Christmas coloring book one year and it was an employee there that had this idea.
I found this intersting.
They also mentioned which state made Christmas an official holiday, but I missed it.

Yes, unfortunately, Montgomery Wards at last I heard was just doing catalog sales. I'm not even sure if they are in buiness at all anymore.
Leviathan?? You must have the worst attitude I have encountered lately. Concerning your response about Dec. 7, 1941 you say " what did it get us?" living in CA you should know the answer to this. Concidering that the Japanese had submarines close to torpedo range of navel bases in San Deigo and Long Beach. So, it saved your sorry ass from speaking Japanese. The comment about Rudolph did not have anything to do with Wards going bankrupt.

Re: Rudolph
Listen....I think the majority of us are here for pure fun.....We take all things said here with a grain of salt...I have noticed that Levi takes the time time to make sure that ALL threads are answered, regardless of how interesting they may be to others......
I don't think he write his answers malicously...I think he just tries to make people feel appreciated!
Maybe you should think about the way you talk to people, We are here to have fun, but when a serious questions is posted, we all seem to be serious when warented!.....

Re: Rudolph
Excuse me, but I do think about how and what I say to others. Fact is that Lev seems to not put much thought into much of anything he writes. Haven't seen much thought from his posts at all and definately nothing positive.

You really should chill out. Its not that serious. Just because everyone doesnt jump on your posts and write and entire paragraph, doesnt mean we dont care. Calm down.

Re: Rudolph
Ok, It's not that I am that concerned about what Lev said. It's his general attitude.
I posted this because I thought perhaps there was an outside chance that someone here would be interested in a bit of trivia.
Personally?? I think the addage of "engage mind before putting mouth [in this case keyboard] in gear applies. Just my opinion though.
There's an addage about that though too.

Re: Rudolph
Well heres one for ya then...my dad was fighting them in WWII, before you were even born. Not only were the subs off the coast they sent ballons over the ocean from Japan that hit part of the Calif coast areas. The point being after it was all said and done we went in and rebuilt Japan who owns most of Calif big business, and put Wards out of business by there cheap products. It was ended by Einstien (a German by the way ) who invented the A-bomb. Now we are borrowing money from them to pay our debts to the rest of the world because of our rebuilding efforts. And by the way We pushed Japan into war by cutting off there oil supply...they were acting in there own interets. Roosevelt wanted to enter WWII but couldn't get the people to go along with it so he forced the issue. Check you facts buddy... We lost a lot of good men there
