How was your halloween? Many tricks or theaters come to your home? Many houses in your neighborhood?

Re: big ole bowl of candy
As young nippers we’d have had your KitKat as it was worth a slight dampening to get our mitts on the goodies. It was rare to get chocolate, mostly penny toffees, Bluebird chews, Bazooka Joe bubblegum, hard liquorice sticks or Everlasting Gobstoppers (Jawbreakers), but never money. There was one old lady who regularly gave out spooky looking current buns and small pastries she cooked for Hallowe’en. It’s different today though. She didn’t have a catering certificate or hygienic stainless steel worktops, Jawbreakers were banned and hard liquorice sticks and chews were made soft in the UK over night by a European Directive. But it’s good to see most towns still carry out the old traditions and gives them an excuse to put their mobile phones down for a couple of hours and go out and have some real fun.
