Fifty Dollars
This is a story about Ester and Morris. Every year Ester and Morris would go to the county fair, and every year Morris would tell Ester that he wanted to ride in the helicopter that was there selling rides.
Ester would say, "Well, it costs fifty dollars and fifty dollars is fifty dollars."
One year later when they went to the fair, Morris said, "Ester, I am 85 years old and I may never get to get a ride in a helicopter." But Ester again mentions, "It's fifty dollars...and fifty dollars is fifty dollars."
The pilot overheard them and felt sorry for Morris and offered them a free ride if they did not say a word during the flight--otherwise it would be fifty dollars.
So, the pilot took them up and did a few stunts to see if they would speak. When he landed he said "Morris, I'm really proud of you...you didn't say a word during the whole flight."
Morris said, "Well, I WAS going to say something when Ester fell out....but fifty dollars is fifty dollars."
