I missed posting. I came home from work and was exhausted.
National Armed Forces Day
Armed Forces Day is a special holiday for people all over the world to come together and thank the men and women of the United States Armed Forces. First conceived by President Harry S. Truman, the holiday was established in 1949. The creation of a single day celebration for all five branches of the United States military made sense due to its recent unification under the Department of Defense. Today, Armed Forces Day is celebrated on the third Saturday of every May, this year falling on May 16. Be sure to support our military!

Twice last year the group I teach wrote letters and messages to Veterans. I didn't know how I would mail the letters? I Googled and found a location in Tampa called, "Support Our Troops". One envelope is all it took! The letters were mailed out to the Veterans. To my surprise we received a letter back thanking us for our letters and support. Enclosed in the letter was a sticker of the American Flag. I didn't have time Saturday for more of the same, but there is always this week.
Thank a Veteran for our FREEDOM!
