Well as traditional as some women are.....I gotta feeling that they would like flowers, a box of candy or even just a sweetheart card...other than being whipped with a freshly skinned animal hide..

I won't lie,I love getting flowers gifts and especially chocolate as much as the next woman but I really have an issue with this holiday. I don't like that people who are not coupled are made to feel like there is something wrong with them if they don't have a partner. Everything revolves around couples. And they act like its a women's only holiday.Men are expected to come up with some amazing romantic gesture and go to huge expense for their partner.We women are not expected to do all that. However we are expected to be at our best and fuck you like never before. I would rather the people in my life show how much we love each other every day. Gifts are not important. Even cards have reached ridiculous prices.Cards are $5 and up. And if you mail any to people, you have to pay extra postage on that as well. The commercials that say "If you love her, send her the very best diamond" Just piss me off! Then the next day women compare notes to try to prove they are loved more than anyone else. Sorry...Don't get me wrong, it's okay to have a day to remind people to put the work away and spend time with the people you love but I would love all the guilt and pressure to not be a part of it. I would be so thrilled if I just had time to spend uninterrupted time with people I love more often than I do. Especially now that the people I love are spreading further away. Okay now that I think of it...we just did that at my sons wedding. I will change that to, I want time with each of them but not necessarily all together. We are a scary group when we are all together.

I knew a fellow named Jack..and he liked to knock on the rear door of any blonde he came across.
He also thought that a cherry flavoured can of chewing tobacco was a romantic gift to give on Valentines Day....Last I heard, he was still single.

Valentines Day is just an expensive waste of my money. my oldest daughter was born on the 12th, my sister was born on the 13th, and AmberZed, one of my best friends (that i actually met right here, in the Chat lobby) celebrates hers on the 14th.
back when i was dating ex wife (before, and after we were married)i worked in a fast food joint, there was a florist right across the street. every year on Valentine's Day, the flower shop would give the restaurant a ton of roses for the employees. it would usually be three or four roses per person. after the first year, i refused to take any home. why? because she couldn't even say thanks, all she did was yell at me for wasting "our" money on roses when we had bills to pay. she didn't believe me when i told her i got them for free, she even called the florist to find out for sure. and that, ladies and gentlemen, is part of the reason i am divorced...
