Thanksgiving
Is everyone ready for the big day? I am looking forward to getting together with family and having a nice dinner. It will be interesting trying to cook everything the hand is not ready for full use yet.

Re: Thanksgiving
Pa has to work and my sister in law is planning to have it at her house. Not sure what we are going to do yet. I want to make sure Pa gets a nice dinner.

Re: Thanksgiving
Am supposed to go to my brothers house but some plans changed and I might just stay home with my daughter. Honestly with the wedding and traveling so much I would really love to stay home just my daughter and myself and have a very quiet Thanksgiving. If I go to my brothers it is many hours in traffic and so man people, its crazy. It would be nice if I hadn't just spent so much time around all of them plus the crowds of people at the parks and airports etc. I am just over people. lol Quiet is underrated....

No.. Thanksgiving is a real holiday here in North America.
It's a prime day for telemarketers from your country to interupt a family dinner.

Re: Thanksgiving
Wouldn't strawberries and raspberries have been out of season?
We spread out a lot for the natives besides food.
I like the part where the kids served...I think my kids would have just laughed if I said, "Hey, Thanksgiving is your job!" I'm not so sure I would have enjoyed the meal as much either.
As for drinking beer vs water. I know a few who still hold up that tradition (Minus the giving it to the children part)
Other than being sick I was happy that I got to spend a nice quiet day with my daughter. I did get to see one of my boys briefly as well. I will see my other son and daughter in law over the weekend if I'm feeling up to it.I can get used to a small quiet Thanksgiving...Maybe I will start a new tradition, stay home every year.

The Natives would dry strawberries and raspberries and mix it with rendered fat from various animals, then bury it in the ground to "Refridgerate" or store it for winter.
This was considered a delicacy, and called Pemmican.

Seriously? I would have expected preserves. Not sure that sounds like a delicacy to me, but to each his own.
