We are under a winter storm warning! They are saying up to 16 inches of snow!
Sy are you the one sending the snow?????? Hard to believe that we have been on the national news. I guess it is a good time to snuggle in with WN and some movies. Any one want to join me????

we just have had a little ice/sleet. supposed to get some snow, i have heard many reports for the amounts, i'll tell you howe much we get after the storm passes.

This makes me laugh because when we were at Disney last week we were looking at the Christmas lights and they had made snow as well. So we were standing in the street that was supposed to be NY I think and all lit up and Christmas music playing. I was in a skirt and T-shirt and it started snowing. It had to be almost 80 degrees so needless to say it doesn't stick. lol

Truth be told...I'm such a Redneck, I just fire up the diesel and run over it with a drag chain behind the truck, till she's packed down good and firm.
My driveway is over a Kilometer ....shoveling isn't an option, and plowing takes to long.

when i was a kid, we rented a farmhouse in the country. the drive was about 1/4 mile long. if we got 1/2 of snow, and the wind blew just right, we'd end up with drifts as high as three feet. dad had a '79 Plymouth Fury II. that car was so solid that he'd use it to bust through those drifts. some days i wonder how we never rolled that car, we would go sideways down the driveway at 50 mph...

It is the middle of December and we have been almost 50. All that snow we got is gone! I figured it was here to stay, it is more like spring out. Looks like a brown Christmas.

When I was still a Greenhorn farm kid I bought this place and purchased a 70 horse power tractor, it was a two wheel drive.
So even with tire chains it'll only plow 8 inches of snow, and on the hill ,over the bridge at the top of my driveway, it will slide backwards.
Most snow here falls 6 inches at a time, so i'll just usually run over it with the diesel truck ,pack it down, and it becomes an iceroad. In the spring being so hard it's the last to melt ,so even during break-up I only can't get out for a week or so due to the mud.
With the warmer temps we have now, and being on the edge of the Coastal Cariboo Mountains, we are getting 14 inches over night......The weather patterns and their behaviour are changing permanently....So a snow plow was on the budget, but that money was spent on a palm tree holiday.
I'm now putting a snow removal system on the top of the farm expenditure list.
It took Eli and I half of Thursday...6 hours Friday...and 9 hours Saturday to reach the top of the driveway with our very shiny handled snow shovels.
I see now that the snowclouds have moved in during sunset....We do believe it's going to snow tonight...But we parked our trucks at the top of the driveway.
After we recover from our snow removal excercise regime....which will take about a week,...You may not want to arm wrestle either one of us.
But as of tonight if you punched either one of us in the shoulder,..we'd probably cry like a baby.

our grade has a rake under it , digs down and scrapes the gravel under the ice, it helps with traction, nothing like hitting a bump and your sideways on ice and then the ditch. whether ya roll or not is another story...

Kiss, please don't take this wrong...but, if you mention warm sunny weather one more time when the rest of us are freezing I might fly down to Florida just to kick you ass!!! That might be the biggest fight they have ever seen on here. Nothing personal though..... Okay, I'm only kidding but it felt good to say after watching the weather report and hearing we are bracing for the coldest week yet coming up. I am shutting off all weather alerts from my phone. We have had so many that it kills my phone battery with in a couple hours. I fucking hate winter.

It's 4 Celcius here ,even at night...My apple trees are trying to bud..The eagles are back 2 months early, the ice is off the lake, I still have half my firewood...I haven't seen the bears yet, but I expect too.
I'm even having a problem finding a foot thick pile of snow, to cool my booze.
Shit even Eli is threatening to not wear his Long Johns in mid-Febuary...Thats just wrong.
On the positive side....I didn't get frostbite on one finger or toe this year.
