Re: Best Halloween Candy!
Don't eat the Sweets.... Instead.
Some Lexington dental offices have organized a Halloween candy exchange program that benefits childrens' teeth and U.S. troops overseas through 'Operation Gratitude,' which annually sends 150,000 care packages to service men and women, Veterans, first responders, wounded warriors and caregivers.
Pediatric Dentist Jackie Banahan is offering to pay kids $1 dollar for every pound of candy they turn-in to her office. She'll then send that candy to U.S. troops overseas as part of a care package from home.
Organizers said it's a great way to thank our troops for their service and sacrifice, while at the same time cutting down on the amount of candy kids eat at Halloween, which is hard on teeth.

You have any infused candy ?
I was thinking of taking a trip to Cuba, but Florida is sounding pretty good.

Re: Best Halloween Candy!
Candy and drugs have been being mixed up as long as I can remember. M&M's, Sweet tarts etc. look like pills and there are the idiots out there that will intentionally swap them out in the wrapper just to fuck with people. If not your neighbor there are those who tamper with packaging and even factories to screw things up.Then there is the problem of pranksters that do all the damage to homes and other property. Oh and the ever so present list of known and unknown child predators out there in our neighborhoods. Halloween is so huge where I live. It's really a month long celebration. But I have to say I never let my kids trick or treat by themselves and I never let them eat the candy they collected. I always had a stash that I switched it out for as soon as we walked through the door. I also took some with us so they could have some along the way. We also tried to do more of the "Safe events" the townships around here planned out. Trick or treat through schools and malls and senior care facilities(The kids and seniors loved this). These were nice and safe and the kids got to interact with some really nice people. It's a shame that we can't feel safe having our kids do something as simple as eating a piece of candy from a neighbor. The world is just not as nice as we would like to think it is.I remember it being pretty much the same way even when I was a kid.I remember the speech my Mom and Grandmother would give before we left to go trick or treat. "Remember we have to bring home everything and check it before you eat anything! Even if it's an apple. It could have a razor blade in it!" Yes, there was a time people gave fruit and there was an issue with razors being put in them.

I remember that newbie we had the same speech. I even gave it to my kids. It got to the point we only went to people we knew, and then it was just the school because they did a big thing for Halloween. I know my grandson only gets to go to houses in the family.
